2) a) Healing of the Centurion Servant (Luke 7:1-10) (8 Marks)
i) Jesus entered Capernaum.
ii) A centurion had a servant who was dear to him.
iii) He was sick at the point of death.
iv) When he heard of Jesus he sent elders of the Jews.
v) They came to Jesus and besought him earnestly to heal his servant (he loved their
nation and built them a synagogue).
vi) Jesus went with them.
vii) When he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying he
was not worthy to have him under his roof but say a word and the servant will be
healed.
viii) When Jesus heard this he marveled at his faith.
ix) He told the multitude that he had not found such faith in Israel.
x) When those who had been sent went back to the house, they found the servant
healed.
b) Ways in which people reacted to the miracles of Jesus. (6 Marks)
i) People were amazed.
ii) Some of the miracles created conflicts between people and Jesus.
iii) People spread news about Jesus to the countryside.
iv) People accepted his teachings.

3) a) The Parable of the Tenants (Luke 20:9-18) (8 Marks)
i) A man planted a vineyard and let it out to tenants and went into another country for
a long while.
ii) When the time came he sent a servant to the tenants that they should give him some
of the fruits of the vineyard, but the tenants beat him and sent him empty handed.
iii) And he sent another servant him also they beat and treated shamefully and sent him
away empty handed.
iv) He sent a third one, they wounded him and cast him out.
v) He sent his beloved son, but the tenants killed him.
vi) What will the owner do to the tenants?
vii) He will come destroy the tenants and give the vineyard to others.

viii) The stone which the builder rejected has become the head of the corner and
everyone who falls on it will be broken to pieces and crushed.
b) Jesus teachings on wealth. (6 x 1 = 6 Marks)
i) One should use proper and honest means to acquire wealth.
ii) One should use his abilities to acquire wealth.
iii) Wealth should be used to help the needy.
iv) The rich should share their wealth with the needy.
v) Wealth should be used responsibly so as to avoid misuse and mismanagement of the
resources.
vi) An individual should not allow wealth to be a stumbling block to eternal life.
vii) Wealth can be a hindrance to the entry into the kingdom of God.
viii) No one can serve God and wealth at the same time.
ix) Wealth comes from God and human beings are only stewards.
x) One should not put all their trust and hope in wealth.

i) By overindulging in alcoholism and drugs.
ii) By indulging in immoral activities e.g. prostitution and adultery.
iii) Engaging in gambling, buying luxurious things e.g. cars, clothes, houses which are
not necessary.
iv) Using wealth to frustrate others e.g. exploiting the poor.
v) Using money to bribe others e.g. judges.
vi) Using money to buy positions, power and status e.g. buying votes.
vii) Use of wealth to show off or beg to others.
viii) Use of wealth to promote dangerous sports e.g. boxing, wrestling

4) a) Four teachings about Christ’s relationship with the church from the bride in the

5) a) The dedication of Jerusalem Wall. (7 x 1 = 7 Marks)
i) The dedication was led by the Levites who represented by priestly tradition of the
Israelites, they assembled in Jerusalem.
ii) Singers came from all the villages of Jerusalem. They sang with the instruments
they got from the temple.
iii) The priests and Levites purified themselves as well as the people. They also
purified the gates and walls of Jerusalem.
iv) Nehemiah led one group in procession while Ezra led another in the opposite
direction. The two groups later met in the temple.
v) Great rejoicing and sacrifices were made to God.
vi) Nehemiah appointed men who were to be responsible for the temple contributions.
The priests and Levites were taken care of as required by the law.
vii) The Jerusalem temple was dedicated to God and the city of Jerusalem became a
symbol of divine protection again. The pride of Judah was reinstated.

i) He denounced marriages between Jews and foreigners.
ii) He purified the temple after sending away the Samaritan Tobiah who had been
residing in the temple.
