Outline
The chapter "Introduction" describes the important safety precautions. It also
gives an overview of the Cash Media Dispenser.
The features of the CMD are described in the chapter "Appendix" in the
section "Technical data".
In the chapter "Description of the components" is a description of the essential
functions of the individual components of the Cash Media Dispenser.
The in the chapter "Device Overview and operation" describes inter alia how
you can replace the cash-out cassette and the reject/retract cassette and how
you can fill the cash-out cassette and set the banknote size.
The chapter "Start-up" is about the initialization of the CMD V5.
In the following, there are chapters which always describe available or optional
components or which give information about them.
In the chapter "Troubleshooting" are possible actions listed which are
necessary to eliminate a malfunction properly.
The next chapter "Removal/Installation of Components" provides information
on how to replace components.
The chapter "Maintenance and Service" contains information on maintenance
work to be carried out regularly.
In the chapter "Appendix", the "Pin assignments" are listed.
Supplementary documentation
Instruction manuals in several languages are available for the operation of the
base devices, which contain also a description about the CMD.
These manuals can be ordered from our print partner. They are also available
in the intranet.
Usually the manufacturers' original manuals for OEM components are included
in the shipment. They may contain more detailed information.
Manual release
Since production began, some components have been replaced for various
reasons (e. g. progress in technology, cost reduction).
Often the hardware replacement does not result in a changed construction of
the device (mechanical or electrical) or the functional integration.
In this case, the new component is added to the service manual and the
previous component remains in the respective chapter.
If the integration of a new component results in changes, the corresponding
chapters will be adapted (e. g. removal/installation, preventive maintenance,
etc.).
In the following are essential features of the Cash Media Dispenser listed:
High level of functional reliability (low reject rate, double dispenses
recognition)
High level of user-friendliness and maintainability:
Electrical and mechanical adjustments were minimized
Maintenance intervals of two years or after 200.000 transactions
All known requirements of environmentally compatible recycling and
disposal were met.
The CMD can be customized in the respective device version to the needs of
the users because of the different model versions (Frontload/Rearload) and
because of a variable number of dispensing units (up to 6 cash-out cassettes
and one reject/retract cassette).
The CMD V5 consists of the following components depending on the features
in the device:
Stacker with or without single reject
Output transport horizontal/vertical Rearload/Frontload
4-cassette housing with a double dispensing unit or two double dispensing
units
1-cassette with single dispensing unit
CMD controller
Cash-out cassette BC or MR or HE
Reject / retract cassette
Shutter
i The single reject function can only be delivered in countries out of the
European Union.
Service functionings
i The tests of the components are performed via the Diagnostics &
services plattform (D&S) or via the T/SOP.
KDIAG Qualifying plus is only used transitionally or for test tool
specialists.
HW Inventory
A considerable increase of efficiency in the service processes is the goal of
the HW Inventory function (electronically readable inventory data of the FRU).
Nearly all field-replaceable units (FRU) are electronically identifiable via the
stored data in the component.
HW Inventory data should be available for operators or technicians in remote
supervised systems as well as on-site at the system.
The data quantity depends on the type and on the manufacturer of the
component.
This data or a subset of it is also printed on the new module label as plain text
/ 1D barcode and 2D data matrix code. The WNS 60414 standard describes
the new FRU module labels.
The data is saved on the system unit (PC) in the form of an encrypted xml file.
This file can be displayed on the device via T/SOP and is used for data
transmission to the CRM system.
Complex components
These FRUs are preponderantly of WN manufacture, e.g. electromechanical
RM3 cash components, main and component electronics, etc.
An EEPROM with defined structure is integrated here with correspondingly
extensive data that is primarily generated during production. The EEPROM is
located either directly on the control logic or with components on the chassis
that do not have logic boards of their own and is wired with the rest of the
sensors and actuating elements.
The so-called data triple of the FRU is the core component.
Part number
Serial number
Revision level
Other data such as operating data, repair data, manufacturer parameters or
configuration data is stored, depending on the FRU.
If FRUs are loaded and operated with the WN firmware, there is always a
Firmware Compatibility Key (FCK) in the EEPROM that displays the
mechanics and electronics configuration of the FRU. This means the firmware
can react to specific features of the electronics and mechanics.
Simple Components
These FRUs are preponderantly OEM purchased parts, e.g. card readers,
monitors, scanners, etc.
The minimum requirement is the availability of the data triple of the FRU.
Part number
Serial number
Revision level
The data triple is generated from the manufacturer information saved in the
module. If the manufacturer does not save the WN part number directly in the
EEPROM, it will be generated for inventorying using a reference table (OCCT).
Die OEM Component Conversion Table (OCCT) is saved on the system unit
(PC) of the basic system. It needs to be updated with every new release of
FRUs. This is processed at the system by the D+S platform or T/SOP, if
required.
Only the revision level of the Simple Components in the HW Inventory data
can be updated in the field.
The electronic readability is based on the functioning of the D&S platform that
is delivered with each system as a standard component of the platform
software. The interface to the D+S platform is implemented through the T/SOP
in conjunction with a graphic screen.
CrypTA
A test function for the operator which is not protected by CrypTA is available
for all components. Further test functions need an authorization of the user for
the T/SOP as well as a assignment of the corresponding rights.
This tools are always encrypted and need in every case the authorization
through CrypTA as well as the assignment of the corresponding rights.
Further information to the CrypTA security systems are avaiable in the intra
and partner net under the keyword "CrypTA".
D&S
TPM Simulation
A special version for the safe channel exists for the CMD-V5 that manages
without a TPM. This version is available exclusively for older systems in which
the CMD-V5 is retrofitted.
In technical terms, this version is marked by two main differences. First, a
different certificate chain is used, which means that a different chip card has to
be installed in the CMD-V5 as well. The chip card for the TPM Simulation is
orange in color, while the standard chip card for the safe channel is white.
Second, the cryptographic keys and certificates on the PC side are not
protected via the TPM, but rather via specific characteristics of the PC, as a
result of which the key memory cannot be copied to other PCs.
This TPM Simulation is available exclusively on Nixdorf PCs without TPM. No
installed Infineon Professional Package is necessary for the installation for this
reason.
The Restore procedure is nevertheless necessary, even if no data is retrieved
from the flash memory of the main board of the PC, because the computer-
specific alignment of the key memory takes place during this procedure. It is
for this reason that the procedures are also not changed in comparison with
the standard solution with TPM in the event of servicing.
Procedures
To guarantee the operability of the safe channel, it is necessary that
mandatory defined procedures be observed during initial operation and
servicing.
Initial start-up
The following graphic shows the general process at the time of initial start-up
of an RM3 device with the safe channel.
For other cases of installation, e.g. installation via image tanking, the
processes must be modified accordingly.
Complete PC replacement
The "Complete PC replacement" use case requires the same handling as with
the first installation.
The popular shortcut performed during the service process for replacing the
PC in the field, by which the old hard disk is reinstalled in the new PC,
corresponds to the service process "Replacement of the system board
(motherboard)".
After the replacement of the system board. the keystore that matches the
system board must be restored from the flash. After a second basekey
replacement, the safe channel also runs to the respective component (e.g.
RM3).
This procedure also applies if the whole PC is replaced WITHOUT the hard
disk.
The Restore must also be carried out when TPM Simulation is used, although
the above steps do not take place.
Basekey replacement
In the following situations, a basekey replacement must be performed so that
the two communication partners (component (e.g. RM3 controller) and system
PC) can exchange current cryptographic keys and converse with one other:
BIOS setting
When the PC leaves the factory, the TPM chip is in the "Enabled and
Activated" state.
Any change in this status (in the BIOS as well as via the Infineon Professional
package) will cause the deletion of the secret key in the TPM, so that the PC is
no longer usable for capacity protection between RM3 and system PC. A
change of this status can also occur if the TPM itself assumes that it is under
attack and deletes its content for security reasons.
If someone deactivates or clears the TPM and reactivates it afterwards, a
secret key will again be in the TPM, but this one will no longer match the
certificates in the flash memory of the system board. A check to see whether
the key is still correct can currently only take place at the time of the initial
operation of the component with the safe channel.
Every PC has a individual key in the TPM. This means that the key and
certificate memory on the hard disk also require an update in the event of a
system board replacement. To accomplish this, the restore function that is
included in the product range of ProBase 1.1/10 or higher must be used to
copy the key and certificate memory to the hard disk from the flash of the
system board, see section "Importing the truststore".
An update of the BIOS or a battery replacement has no influence on the
personalization and the state of the TPM.
Affected PCs
Personalization applies at a minimum to the following EPC_A4, EPC A4 AMT
and EPC_4G PCs/MBs:
Qualifying Plus
The TPM is not relevant for the utilization of Qualifying Plus. A special CrypTA-
encrypted key memory is used for this purpose.

CINEO cassettes
Overview
CINEO cassettes can be used across systems within the CINEO product
family. Different functions of the CINEO cassettes come into effect within the
various systems, which are specified in the following section.
CINEO cassettes are used for storing deposited banknotes and for storing
banknotes for withdrawal. The CMD-V5 only uses the withdrawal function of
the CINEO cassettes.
Different cassettes are available in various versions:
Standard cassette
Compact cassette
Both cassette versions are available in a Basic, Midrange or High End
configuration.
Starting with the Midrange cassette, two insertions without pin are permitted; a
pin must be present from the 3rd insertion.
If a cassette is inserted into the same system three times without the
respective pin and then inserted a fourth time with the respective pin, it is
designated "tampered with".
In addition, a reject/retract cassette is also used. This can only be used in the
Cash Media Dispenser.

The mode of the banknote toning technique signals the current security level in
the CINEO High End banknote storage.
Description of processes
Limiting value
The banknote toning technique is activated or deactivated, respectively, when
the set limiting value of a CINEO High End banknote storage is exceeded or
fallen short of.
If the amount (the value of the money) in the CINEO High End banknote
storage is below the previously defined limiting value, the banknote toning
technique will be deactivated. If the amount exceeds this limiting value once
again at a later time, the banknote toning technique will be reactivated.
The limiting value for the CINEO High End banknote storage can be
i defined with the help of the application program - Cash Supply
Manager (CSM).
The limiting value can be configured for different currencies.
The limiting value 0 means that the banknote toning technique will always
remain active, even when the CINEO High End banknote storage is empty.
Defining a limiting value can help to prevent an inadvertent triggering of the
banknote toning technique.
Timer
The following timers can be defined:
Transport timer
This timer defines the maximum time permitted for the transport of the CINEO
High End banknote storage from one location to another, e.g. from the CINEO
D1000 to the automated teller machine, before the banknote toning technique
is triggered.
You can set the transport timer with the application program - Cash
i Supply Manager (CSM).
A timer time of 0 means that the timer is set to indefinite, and thus will
never run out.
Alarm timer
An acoustic signal is audible shortly before the banknote toning technique is
triggered.
The timer defines the time during which this signal is audible before the
banknote toning technique is triggered.
You can set the alarm timer with the application program - Cash
i Supply Manager (CSM).
Case timer
The case timer is adjustable only during the "CIT with Case" process.
The time for the transport of the CINEO High End cassette after removal from
a transport safety container (case) is set at this timer.
It shows how much time remains for returning the CINEO High End cassette to
a safe environment (e.g. to slide it into a safe or into the CINEO D1000
Docking Station) after removal from the transport safety container before the
banknote toning technique is triggered.
It describes the maximum time that the cassette can remain in an unsafe area.
The standard setting of the timer is 90 seconds.
You can set the case timer with the application program - Cash Supply
i Manager (CSM).
In some countries it is mandatory that statutory regulations be
observed with respect to the setting of the case timer and with respect
to the limits within which this can be altered.
The High End CINEO cassette is configured at the factory in such a way that
the banknote toning technique is only active inside of the Cash Media
Dispenser Version 5.
* The cassette switches to the safe mode after you have inserted the
cassette in the Cash Media Dispenser Version 5 or after you have
closed the safe door.
The High End cassette is configured with the corresponding parameters and
ready for operation.
The High End cassette can be locked, unlocked or opened.
In this OFF mode, all of the sensors of the banknote toning technique are
switched off.
Only in OFF mode can the High End cassette be opened regularly. No other
opening outside of the OFF mode is allowed, and any such opening will be
assessed as an attack and will trigger the banknote toning technique.
Transport mode
Symbol for the transport mode
In the transport mode, the sensors are so configured that the High End
cassette can be moved or transported within a defined time frame.
In this time frame (transport timer), the High End cassette must be transported
back into a safe environment (e.g. transport safety container, safe).
A signal tone is triggered by the alarm timer 15 seconds before the transport
timer finishes (15 seconds = factory setting of the alarm timer).
If the High End cassette is not deployed in a system (e.g. safe, trustee
shelves) after the transport timer is expired, then the banknotes toning
technique will be triggered.
The time window for the transport timer and the alarm timer can be set
i with the application program - Cash Supply Manager (CSM).
Statutory requirements are to be observed for setting the timer in
countries where these apply.
To switch from the OFF mode to the transport mode, the lock of the
High End cassette must be locked.
Please handle the cassette carefully – in this mode, the banknote
toning technique is active.
The open shutter mode secures the High End cassette during removal from
the Cash Media Dispenser Version 5 rack and during insertion in the Cash
Media Dispenser Version 5 rack.
The open shutter mode is displayed:
During removal, after pressing the lock/release lever.
During insertion, after pushing into the rack of the Cash Media Dispenser
Version 5.
The time window of the open shutter timer is 30 seconds.
A signal tone is triggered by the alarm timer 15 seconds before the open
shutter timer finishes (15 seconds = factory setting of the alarm timer).
The time window for the alarm timer can be set with the application
i program - Cash Supply Manager (CSM).
Statutory requirements are to be observed for setting the timer in
countries where these apply.
Recommendation:
The High End cassette should be removed and inserted in one pull.
Please handle the cassette carefully – in this mode, the banknote
toning technique is active.
The open safe mode is active if the High End cassette is completely inserted in
a Cash Media Dispenser Version 5 und and the safe is open at the same time.
If the safe is close regularly, the High End cassette switches into the safe
mode.
The banknote toning technique switches to the transport mode when the High
End cassette is removed.
The open safe mode is fitted with a timer which causes the triggering of the
banknotes toning technique if it expires. This is a protection against unlocked
safes.
A signal tone is triggered by the alarm timer 15 seconds before the open safe
timer finishes (15 seconds = factory setting of the alarm timer).
The time window for the open safe timer and the alarm timer can be
i set with the application program - Cash Supply Manager (CSM).
The Open Safe Timer is deactivated as standard.
Safe mode
Symbol for the safe mode
The safe mode is the normal mode of the High End cassette in a Cash Media
Dispenser Version 5 with a closed safe.
In the safe mode, cash will be withdrawn and deposited from the High End
cassette.
In the safe mode, all of the sensors of the banknote toning technique are
switched to armed.
The safe mode can be exited only by opening the safe regularly or when the
threshold value is fallen short of.
You can set the threshold value with the application program - Cash
i Supply Manager (CSM).
Trustee mode
Symbol for the trustee mode
Communication between the trustee and the High End cassette is achieved
partly through the pin and the command or through an infrared interface with a
defined protocol.
In the CINEO D1000, the High End cassette is prepared for transport with a
command by the OFF mode. After the High End cassette is completely
removed, the transport mode is directly displayed.
Please handle the cassette carefully – in this mode, the banknote
toning technique is active.
Inking mode
Symbol for the inking mode
The inking mode is displayed if the banknote toning technique was triggered.
After the banknote toning technique has been triggered, refrain from
all acts or omissions which could worsen the damage to the affected
hardware and/or to its immediate vicinity.
In order to prevent any worsening of the damage, you should use the
Staining Emergency Pack from Wincor Nixdorf (see chapter
"Appendix", section "Consumables").
Wincor Nixdorf recommends having a Staining Emergency Pack
stored at all times in the vicinity of a Cash Media Dispenser Version 5
in which CINEO Inking Hardware is used.
Service note
Symbols for the service note
The service not is not a direct mode, but it is displayed during all other modes.
A spanner is displayed in addition in the LCD display.
The service note is shown if:
– a battery replacement is necessary
– an ink tank replacement is necessary
– sensors are defective
– no modes are switchable
If the service note is shown, you should read out and eliminate the
i reason as soon as possible with the application program - Cash
Supply Manager (CSM) - or via the TSOP.
LED off:
No power supply from the system
power supply unit.
Safety instructions
Make sure that cassettes are not damaged or dropped during transport.
When cassettes are transported in vehicles they must be secured to
prevent them from sliding and being damaged by other objects.
Protect the cassettes against moisture during transport.
Allow cassettes which have been in a cold environment sufficient time to
acclimatize before they are used to prevent condensation.
Caution: Danger caused by moving parts. Keep fingers and other parts of
the body away from the designated danger zones.
Insert the cassettes in one uninterrupted motion until you can hear them
lock into position. Do not push them in jerkily, as this could damage the
cassettes or the cassette guide.
Never pull a cassette out while the system is in operation, because this will
immediately result in a banknote jam.
Consider the weight of cassettes prior to removal.
CINEO cassette
Handling is described in the following section by means of illustrations which
display standard CINEO cassettes. Compact CINEO cassettes are handled in
the same way unless otherwise stated.
Removing cassettes
Open the safe door (see chapter "Basic Operation" in the operating
manual).
Wait until the removal standby is established by the product-specific
i software.
Inserting cassettes
i Normally the tamper indicator (1) is green. If the indicator is blue, the
cassette has been tampered with or has been forced open.
Unlock the reject/retract cassette using the key and/or turn the
locking/release lever to the left. Open the lid (see section "Opening the
cassette").
Close the cassette lid and turn the locking/release lever to the left or lock
the cassette with the key (see section "Closing the cassette").
Push the cassette back into the CMD
V5 in one uninterrupted motion until it
audibly latches into place.
CINEO cassettes
Push the cassette back into the CMD
V5 in one uninterrupted motion until it
audibly latches into place. Wait for two
in the melody ascending beeps, which
confirm the correct pressure build-up in
the cassette.
1
When installing cassettes, do
i not push them in jerkily so as
not to damage them or the
guide.
i Detailed instructions for handling the cassettes are displayed via the
"Cash Supply Manager (CSM)" software application and the PC.
These instructions must be observed for correct handling of the
cassette!
2 1
Remove and open the cassette (see section "Opening the cassette").
Remove the banknotes from the
cassette's reject compartment.
i You should only open the CINEO high end cassette in the docking
station CINEO D1000 and in the OFF mode.
Without the docking station CINEO D1000 the opening is not possible,
if a transport mode is used during the process.
i You should only close the CINEO high end cassette in the docking
station CINEO D1000 and in the OFF mode.
Without the docking station CINEO D1000 the closing is not possible,
if a transport mode is used during the process.
Removing/refilling banknotes
Use the loading aid shown in the
picture below to remove or fill the
banknotes or the docking station
CINEO D1000.
i You should only remove and refill the banknotes in the high end
cassette in the OFF mode.
Insert the cassette in the docking station CINEO D1000 or put it on the
loading aid.
i If bank notes are to be refilled, remove the remaining notes from the
cassette and re-insert them into the bundle in accordance with the refill
notes.
Refill notes
Preparing banknotes
Check the banknotes for damage before you put them into a cassette.
Sort out damaged banknotes and/or remove clips, needles or other foreign
objects.
Banknotes that have been torn,
i taped, dog-eared, creased,
stapled or clipped may not be
used.
Type A:
Turn the bundle so that the deformed
corner of the banknote is pointing
towards the cassette end from which
the banknotes are dispensed and not
to the pressure carriage.
Type B:
Bundles with a pronounced S shape
exceeding 5 mm (0.2") should not be
used.
If no other banknote bundles are
available, the entire bundle needs to
be formed to a U shape as to be fit for
use. Insert these bundles so that the
deformed corners are pointing towards
the cassette end from which the
banknotes are dispensed and not
towards the pressure carriage.
Type C:
If the bundle has a wavy shape as a
result of being tied, turn it so that the
deformed corners are pointing towards
the end from which the banknotes are
dispensed and not towards the
pressure carriage.
Cassette initialization
The initialization of the cassettes is necessary in case of new types of
banknotes or cassettes. This is established by the product-specific software.
Please observe the product-specific and bank requirements. Please obtain this
information from the bank's administration.
Settings
Fundamentals
The adjusting dimensions regarding the banknotes as well as the setting
procedures for the CINEO cassettes are described in this section.
You can use the CINEO cassettes of the CINEO portfolio across
systems within the CCMS. You need to set the cassettes like recycling
cassettes, so you can use the CINEO cassette via the CMD V5.
The banknote width has to be set before the cassette is used for the
i first time or when a different currency or denomination is used in a
cassette.
Remove any banknotes before you set the banknote width.
You cannot insert an all deposit box or a deposit box in the CMD V5.
If the bank's administrative staff did not classify the cassette type,
configure the CINEO cassettes like a recycling cassette.
i Make sure that both banknote rails are set to the same scale value at
all four positions.
Three settings need to be entered for the banknote height in the cassette:
1. Setting the holding-down clamp on the dispensing side
2. Setting for the height limiter on the pressure carriage
3. Setting for the height limiter in the cassette lid
Each of the three adjustment options has a lettered scale from A to G.
i Make sure that all the settings have the same letter value.
Dispensing side
Press the green release buttons (1) underneath the left and the right
holding-down clamp as far as possible in the direction of the cassette side
wall and set the holding-down clamps to the required banknote height (2).
Pressure carriage
Use one finger to hold the release for the height limiter and press it in the
direction of the arrow (1). Set the height limiter in the direction shown by
the arrow (2) to the required banknote height.
Cassette lid
Press the release lever (1) inwards and press the height limiter in the
direction of the arrow (2) out of the mounting.
Push the height limiter (1) at the required banknote height into the
mounting until the release levers engage.
CMD controller
The CMD controller (without cover in the illustration) controls all of the
processes in the CMD V5 and the communication to the higher-order system
unit.
The following functions are integrated on the CMD controller:
Measurement of banknotes
Photosensor control
Motor control and module supervision for up to two double dispensing units
and one single dispensing unit
Cassette control
The CMD controller contains a master controller and two slave controllers
which are connected via the CAN bus. The master controller is the central
control unit and runs the process control and the USB communication to the
PC. The slave controller runs the time-critical tasks.
Two slave controller are deployed to run the actuators and the sensor tasks.
A slave controller is for the most part provided for the tasks in the stacker
(collector) and another slave performs in principle the tasks of the dispensing
units/separators. The responsibilities may be intermingled due to resource
considerations. The shutter electronics and the electronics in the dispensing
units are addressed discretely, i.e. they don't have an additional controller or
slave.
Microcontroller
Two types of 32-bit microcontrollers share the responsibilities on the CMD
controller.
The STR710FZ2T6 microcontroller is deployed here as a central control unit. It
has the following properties:
ARM7TDMI 32-bit RISC CPU
256 Kbytes Flash program memory with 10 000 write cycles
16 Kbytes Flash data memory with 100 000 write cycles
64 Kbytes RAM
3.3 V voltage supply
Several serial communication interfaces, i.a. CAN and USB.

Safety switch
The safety switch monitors the start position of CMD; if the CMD is pulled out
of the safe, the supply voltage will be disconnected.
Stacker
The stacker with retract function is on the upper rack. The stacker serves all
output types. The configuration depends on the output transport. The single
reject function is installed in countries outside of the European Union.
The stacker collects impeccable notes in the stacking position of the clamp. If
the Single-Reject function is present, then rejected notes will be removed
individually (a maximum of two 'bad note' per transaction). In the absence of a
Single-Reject function, the rejected note will be removed by a Bundle-Reject
function and placed into the Reject/Retract cassette.
A bundle output from the stacking position of the clamp is controller by the
routing disk. The clamp is closed with the help of the routing disk.
The clamp transports the bundle, guided in gear tracks, to the respective
position. The drive motor for the drive system is mounted on the clamp.
The routing disk determines the path of the clamp. It aligns itself in accordance
with the requirements. If the clamp reaches the customer cash-out position,
the bundle is transported somewhat out of the clamp. This takes place with the
help of the installed belts which are controlled by a separate drive motor on the
clamp.
A bundle of notes can be transported from the customer cash-out position and
into the retract box of the reject/retract cassette by the retract function. The
stacker can transport bundles from the stacking position to the customer cash-
out position or into the reject/retract cassette or from the customer cash-out
position back into the retract box of the reject/retract cassette, where they are
stored unsorted. The number of storage events is counted (presuming there is
a corresponding output transport).
Optionally, a bundle can be retracted and stored in the stacking position of the
clamp. If this option is used, however, no further device operations are
possible until the bundle is removed by an operator and the software has
canceled the lock.
The drive system of the transport belts in the stacker (except for the clamp) is
provided by the main motor that also drives the dispensing units.
The reject/retract can be simply be pushed into the stacker. It engages in
place and is locked in the final position. The cassette position is checked by a
switch. To remove the cassette, it must be released with a lever on the
stacker.
The main motor can be swung away for the purpose of accessibility to the
single reject compartment.
Output transport
The output transport differs, depending on the device version. The following
illustration shows a output transport for a Rearload device with horizontal
output. The output transport is secured to the stacker (only with horizontal
output) and is controlled via the CMD controller.
Shutter
The shutter is a cash cover flap that is controlled with the CMD controller.
VBK shutter
The shutter is a cash cover flap which is controlled with the CMD controller.
The attachment of a trapping device in front of the cash cover flap is intended
to be detected by means of sensor systems. Two different procedures are
deployed for this purpose. The first procedure depends on a transmitter
positioned outside of the shutter area, the second on a distance sensor that is
installed inside the shutter.
Dispensing unit
With the CMD-V5, each user can select the right device configuration for his
requirements by choosing between different models (Indoor/Outdoor,
Frontload/Rearload) and among a variable quantity of dispensing units (1-6).
The multiple-note detection unit must be positioned in the top dispensing unit.
It checks whether double or overlapping notes have been dispensed.
Racks
Each of the racks can be configured with a single dispensing unit or with a
double dispensing unit. They become a operable component only in
conjunction with the dispensing units.
Each quadruple rack consists of four cassette mountings and at least one
double dispensing unit with a multiple-note detection unit. The second double
dispensing unit without a multiple-note detection unit is then used if more than
two cassettes are configured.
The multiple-note detection unit must always be in the upper dispensing unit.
The pressure of the banknotes on the extractor shaft is evaluated with a
pressure sensor. The note dispensing proceeds by means of downward
friction. The dispensing unit extracts only one note at a time from the bank
note cassette and transports it to the stacker. Two sequential notes have a
defined minimum distance from one another during this process. Subsequent
notes are held back by a retaining shaft that is actuated by a magnet.
A pendulum dispensing shaft is installed for the note dispensing. The drive of
the extractor shaft is provided by the central motor as well as a magnetic
coupling for each extractor shaft. At one end of the extractor shaft there is a
pressure sensor through which the note contact pressure and the message
'Cassette pushed in' are checked. A forward motion of the notes is brought
about by an additional roller in the cassette. Preliminary separation is achieved
by means of an extended inlet slope in the cassette.
The cassette can readily be pushed into the rack with dispensing unit(s). They
engage in place and are locked in the final position. The cassettes can be
unlocked with the release lever on the rack.
Voltages and signals from the controller to the cassette are redirected through
the cassette connector.

Adjustment eccentric
The adjustment eccentric is part of the dispensing unit with which the
dispensing gap (V gap) can be set.
There are three settings for the
eccentric: Setting A, B and C.
In new deliveries, they are always set
to position A. If a replace dispensing
unit is supplied, its maximum setting
is B.
If the double dispenses from a single cassette in the CMD V5 become more
frequent, the V gap on the corresponding dispensing unit can be decreased by
increasing both eccentrics (respectively to left and right of the shaft) by one
step, e.g. from A to B. If the V gap is set too high, than no dispensing from the
corresponding cassette will be possible.
Pressure sensor
The pressure sensor (DMx_PS1) provides the position as an analog value and
thus the pressure of the extractor shaft.
Cassette handling
If a new cassette was inserted, the dispensing pressure should be build after
that. If the dispensing pressure is not possible, you can hear an acoustic
signal three times.
After this, the data of the cassette memory is read.
Initial start-up
During the initial start-up of the CMD V5 (Cash Media Dispenser), perform the
following operations in the stated sequence:
1. Set the bank note cassettes to the bank note size if they were not preset in
the factory
2. Fill the cassettes with genuine money and push them in
3. Key initialization for secure channel if this was not carried out at the factory
4. Update the banknote parameters and cassette filling data
5. Initialization of the cassettes
6. Genuine money test
i Performance of items one, two, four, five and six is described in the
chapter "Device Overview and operation"; performance of item three is
described in the chapter "Introduction", section "Service functionali-
ties".

Start-up behavior
With Reset or after the power up, you can check whether the CMD V5 is ready
to operate, but this can only work if the command has been executed without
errors!
After a device reset the CMD V5 is in a defined state.
After the performance of a command, the detection of the first error is
cancelled. Error causes can be detected with the D&S platform (see chapter
"Troubleshooting").
Controller test
During the reset the same routine runs as during the power up. But the
controller test will not be performed. The controller test needs approx. six
seconds.
Firmware test
The validity of the downloaded firmware is checked.
Memory reset
The internal markers are reset.
In addition to the general storage area, there are also program and parameter
areas, which contains remains even if the supply voltage fails because of a
support battery.
Dispensing
Checking the basic condition
A check is run to determine if:
the transport paths are free.
all requested cassette positions are ready and logged on.
The requested number of notes is subtracted from every cassette via the
system interface. The dispensed notes are transported to the multiple-note
detection unit.
All 'good notes' are stored in the stacking position of the clamp. If a 'bad note'
is recognized during the dispensing, a bundle reject or a single reject is
performed after that (depending on the configuration). The dispensing
command gets repeated.
Undefined notes
If more notes reach the stacking position of the clamp as were dispensed, a
bundle reject is performed. Thereafter, the original command is repeated.
Banknote jam
A banknote jam may occur during the dispense process. If a note jam occurs,
power is applied to the transport motor for approx. another two seconds. This
ensures that transportable notes reach the stacking position of the clamp.
After this a banknote is dispensed from the bottom cassette and transported to
the stacking position of the clamp.
If the note reaches the stacking position of the clamp, the transport route is
empty again. A bundle reject is performed. In a standard dispensing, the
original command gets repeated.
If the note does not reach the clamp, this process is repeated twice.
Afterwards, a non removable banknote jam is clearly ascertained. There is no
further device operation.
But an inspection is mandatory; the note jam needs to be removed by hand.
Correction must be completed with a reset.
Transport
With the transport function, dispensed notes can be output or stored in the
reject/retract cassette.
Bundle reject
This function is used to transport note bundles which were not yet in customer
access, to the reject box.
Single reject
This function is only available, if the systems were delivered in a country out of
the European Union.
If a 'bad note' is recognized during the dispensing, this note gets rejected and
a spare note gets dispensed. Max. two banknotes per transaction can be
stored in the single reject box. After a completed transaction, the notes in the
single reject box get transported in the reject/retract cassette.
The flag is also active during a power failure; it won't be reseted by a reset. So
that after the disposal of the note bundle, the CMD V5 can be still operated,
the device lock needs to be unlocked.
Open the safe door (see the operating manual of the base device).
Pull the CMD V5 as far as possible out of the safe by the green release
lever (see chapter "Removal/Installation of Components", section "Pulling
out/pushing in the CMD V5").
If the banknote clamp is not in the stacking position, try to move the clamp
carefully downwards in the stacking position.
Re-insert all cassettes that have been removed (see section "Inserting
cassettes").
Log on the cassettes using the product-specific software (see the operating
manual of the basic device).
Horizontal output
If the clamp has come to a standstill at
a position outside the stacking
position, you may need to check and
1 clean the gear tracks (1).
After checking the cash paths push the CMD V5 by the green release lever
back into the safe as far as possible (see the operating manual of the basic
device).
Close the safe door (see the description in the basic device operating
manual).
Vertical output
Vertical output with cover only:
Remove the screws (1) and (2).
Remove the cover in the direction of
the arrow (3).
After checking the cash paths push the CMD V5 by the green release lever
back into the safe as far as possible (see the operating manual of the basic
device).
Close the safe door (see the description in the basic device operating
manual).
Shutter
Check the photosensors (1) and (2) in
the shutter area.
Note that the device should always be turned off during replacements
of components.
Pushing in:
Use the green release lever to push the CMD-V5 into the device as far as it
goes (the CMD-V5 must audibly latch into place).
CMD controller
Open the safe door (see operating manual of the basic device) and pull the
CMD V5 out of the device (see section "Pulling out/pushing in the CMD V5").
Detach connectors (1) and (2).
Remove the cables from the
mountings (3) and (4).
Installation
The controller is put on the threaded pins during installation. The controller
must audibly lock into position while doing so.
When plugging in the stacker
EEPROM, observe the 360° rotation of
the flexprint (1). The flexprint may not
protrude above the top edge of the
stacker (2).
i The photosensors and the pressure sensor must be initiated after the
CMD controller has been replaced, (see chapter "Start-up").
Stacker
Remove the CMD controller (see section "CMD controller").
Remove the reject/retract cassette and the top cash-out cassette (see
chapter "Device overview and operation", section "Removing the
cassette").
Slide the locking/release lever to the
left (see arrow 1) until it locks into
place.
Push the stacker to the rear (arrow 2)
and remove it upwards.
Dispensing units
Two double dispensing units can be deployed in the quadruple rack. The top
dispensing unit always contains the multiple-note detection unit.
Remove the cassettes before you remove the dispensing unit!
Adjust the new dispensing unit (see section "Adjustment of the dispensing
unit").
Installation
Insert the dispensing unit and close the latching mechanism. If it cannot be
closed, check the correct seating of the dispensing unit.
If necessary, turn the gearwheels carefully so that the dispensing unit locks
into position.
Guide the cables through the
mountings (1) to (4).
Maintenance
Maintenance Intervals
Preventive maintenance on the CMD V5 should be carried out every two years
or no later than after 200,000 transactions.
Performing maintenance
Clean the cassettes. Check all function parts for damage, smooth motion
and play.
Remove the stacker, if necessary with the output transport (horizontal), and
the dispensing units.
The function test is carried out by the system software. (Refer to the
software documentation for further information.)
Stacker
Clean the stacker with a vacuum cleaner, a brush, a dust cloth or with
compressed air.
Clean the photosensors using a brush, compressed air or a dust cloth. All
of the photosensors should be cleaned only in a dry state.
Check any routing disks that may be installed for smooth motion.
Output transport
Clean the output transport with a vacuum cleaner, a brush, a dust cloth or
