Skit

POV : Ayush is a friend of Prathamesh and even the product seller and Prathamesh is father
of specially abled child

1. At starting of the scene :- Prathamesh will act like he is in tension and is worrying
about something
2. After that Ayush will notice prathamesh and approach him asking about his worries

Dialogues :

Prathamesh (in worry) : Yaar ! what should I do I am in a big trouble…


Ayush (noticing prathamesh) : heyy !! Prathamesh

Prathamesh (After noticing ayush) : hii!! How are you?


Ayush : I am fine what about you

Prathamesh : I’m ok..

Ayush : you don’t seem ok ..

Ayush : Whats wrong you look in some sort of worry ?

Prathamesh : Yeah I am worried about my son he is in 3rd standard & is visually


Impaired.
It is difficult for us to educate him at home because we don’t have any
feasible means to do so.

Ayush : ooh … Don’t worry I’ve got you

Prathamesh : What do you mean ?

Ayush : Bit-Brigade has came up with an idea of developing a digital environment for
specially-abled people to empower themselves through education.

Prathamesh : Hey would you please tell me more about it …

Our Idea is to develop an educational desktop application for specially abled students
to help them understand concepts at their fingertips. Our Domain is Edu-tech.

According to the World Health Organization, about 40 million people worldwide are
blind, and 250 million have some form of visual impairment.
Our aim is to Create a digital environment for the visually impaired to empower
themselves through education.

Prathmesh:
We have an aim to educate them so that they won’t feel left behind in this rapidly
changing world.
After a lot of brainstorming we came up with the idea of building an app which
specializes in educating the blind people by self-learning.

The application would have these features (points towards ppt):


1. The contents on the screen must be announced to the user so as to let
them know their selected position in the app.
2. These feature will be facilitated by Voice API.
3. We believe the mouse controls we aim to develop for navigating in app
would be Easy. These controls are explained ahead in ppt.

4. The app should possess the ability to notify or mail the important points to
user Which we call it as revision module

5. There are email systems out there for visually impaired which uses their
own Developed email system. Whereas we aim to incorporate the Gmail API.
6. The app should have multi-lingual support

7. This project aims to help the visually impaired people to be a part of


growing digital India.

Ayush:
As Prathmesh just mentioned these controls are the basic foundation of this app.

Traversing through app would be based on mouse events.


1. Left click would be used to traverse forward in the app.
2. Right click would be used to traverse backwards in the app.
3. Scrolling button would be used to scroll upwards and
downwards in the application.

This is the user’s POV toward the system.(points towards pc ) This represents the
personal computer or laptop user is running application on. (points towards speaker)
These are the speakers which announces contents. (points towards mouse) And this
is the mouse to navigate in the app.

This is the tech stack we are going to follow :
1. Python for backend
2. Tkinter library for UI
3. Gmail API for quick revision module.

Prathmesh:
Moving on to the architecture…
1. The user will access the desktop application on his/her PC which would be

using voice API for reading out contents on screen.


2. The application would have Dashboard as what we call as home page.
Through which user can select the Subject and any chapter to start learning.
3. Under the chapter section user can perform these operations: (Points
towards ppt)
a. Send Quick Revision notes

b. Resume for where left


c. Start from beginning
d. Resume from page left
4. To facilitate these features the data would be stored in database.

Ayush:
1. The application can be developed to support voice based controls.
2. This app in future should support multiple languages
3. We can integrate our app with various technologies such as e-books, voice based
email Systems, etc.

4. In upcoming versions we can develop this app to be used on various operating


systems such as android.

Based on these references we have developed a small prototype to test the Voice API
