GUIDE FOR THE EXAM OF ELECTRIC POWER SYSTEMS
IN PRESENCE USING EOL
The student must register for the exam on the site https://almaesami.unibo.it
If the exam is not scheduled in a computer lab (for example Lab 5), the student must bring a laptop to
the exam room, able to access to https://eol.unibo.it, with a fully charged battery.

The numerical calculation part is carried out by using https://www.pythonanywhere.com . The student
needs to register on the site (free version).
To participate in the exam, before the date, you must download on your computer all the previously
written program files from the pythonanywhere site and delete in the pythonanywhere site. At the
beginning of the exam, the pythonanywhere site file screen must be like the one shown in the following
figure, without other additional files. In the day of the exam, please make sure that your
pythonanywhere account is available with sufficient CPU.

During the exam the student is required to look at the monitor of his own computer and not that of the
other students.
DESCRIPTION OF THE TEST AND SCORES
The exam consists of two parts, each lasting 40 minutes with a short interval between the two (about 10
minutes).
The first part is about the theory.
The test is structured with multiple choice quizzes.
There are 8 questions with a total allowed response time of 40 minutes.
The set of answers proposed for each question in the quiz may contain one or more correct answers.
The whole may contain the answer that "none of the other proposed answers is right".
The scores are automatically assigned by the system as follows: from 0 to 2 points for each question. If
the set of answers proposed contains more correct answers, the score is divided in proportion. Only by
selecting all and only the right answers will you get the full score. Each selection of a wrong answer is
penalized by 1/3 of the question score (i.e., the reduction of 0.66 points in the sum of the final mark for
each wrong selection is counted). Not selecting an answer (right or wrong) gives no score.
The second part deals with numerical exercises (usually 2).
It is required to copy both the contents of the python file and the results in the eol response field, with
the indication of what are the numerical answers requested in the text of the problem.
