Science Symposium
-By Amit/ Amita Raazdan, Editor

With the aim to address the most crucial issue of waste management, MMD
School Nashik organised ‘Eureka’, a Science Symposium on the topic "Effect of
Pollution on Quality of Life” on March 1, 2020 in its school auditorium.
The event began with the felicitation of the guest speakers by the school
Principal Mr Rakesh Dhillon. Thereafter, the participants were espoused by Mr
Suraj Prakash, Founder, Youth for Change. In his address Mr Prakash
acquainted the audience with the objectives and goals of the event, and
extended a warm welcome to Dr. Hari Om Gupta, resource person for the
event. In the first session, Mr Gupta reflected his profound knowledge on the
topic and highlighted how important it is to curb the menace of pollution.

An exalting demonstration of effects of pollution on our lives roused the

engrossed participants. After the lunch break Dr. K.K. Arora, Resource Person
for the second session, exhibited the possible steps that can be undertaken at
the personal level to reduce pollution. This was followed by a special session
by the Chief Guest Mr Dhillon, which triggered the young minds into thinking
of innovative ways to reduce pollution.

The event comprised an interactive concourse that ignited the inquisitiveness

of all participants. The participants finally took a pledge to commit themselves
completely to bring about a positive change for the environment. The
informative event culminated with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms Vibhavri
Sharma, HOD Physics.
