8) Title: Implementation of ECG System for Real Time System Processing Applications.
Authors: Dhanashri H Gawali, Vijay M. Wadhai
Proposed system is suitable for real time ECG signal processing applications. In analysis of effect of music
on heart, stress detection, depression analysis etc
Sensors
Pulse Oximeter: Pulse oximeter is a non-invasive and painless test that measures our oxygen saturation
level or oxygen level in our blood. The purpose of pulse oximeter is to check how well your heart is
pumping oxygen through our body. The pulse oximeter used here is MAX30100.
Temperature Sensor: An instrument for measuring and indicating temperature. A medical thermometer
is used for measuring human body temperature. It converts the input data into electronic data to
record, monitor, or signal temperature changes. The sensor used here is MLX90614. It is a Contactless
Infrared (IR) Digital Temperature Sensor that can be used to measure the temperature of a particular
object ranging from -70° C to 382.2°C. The sensor uses IR rays to measure the temperature of the object
without any physical contact and communicates to the microcontroller using the I2C protocol.
ECG Signal Detector: It is used to collect the human heart sound and signal sees the functioning of the
heart. And records how often the heartbeat and how regularly it beats. The information is recorded on a
graph that shows each phase of the electrical signal as it travels through our heart. The sensor used here
is AD8232.
Introduction
During this Pandemic, this project aims to develop content in the COVID-19 category and also the
Respiratory response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. COVID-19 is a infectious disease caused by newly
discovered severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The virus that causes COVID-
19 is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or
exhales.
Most common symptoms are 1)fever
2)dry cough
3)tiredness
less common symptoms are: 1)Aches and pains
2)sore throat
3)headache
4)loss of taste or smell
5)diarrhoea
6)rash on skin
serious symptoms are: 1)difficulty breathing or shortness of breathing
2)Chest pain or pressure
3)loss of speech or movement
The increasing cost of healthcare and cost of living has led to the scarcity of resources and a need for
real time, non-invasive and compact system for Monitoring. The paper demonstrates a model which
combines three sensors that are temperature sensors, pulse oximeter and ECG module. The visualisation
of ECG allows diagnosis of cardiac death. The increase in heart rate and contractility suggests acute
physical stress to the heart which is displayed through ECG. Infrared sensor is chosen since it has a high
accuracy for measuring human body temperature. Pulse Oximeter sensor is used to measure the oxygen
level of patients blood. The model is coded and created using LabVIEW software. It is used to develop
applications that utilize microprocessor. It processing speed is almost ten times of the standard general
micro-controllers and microprocessor. We can use this device in systems where there is a need of quick
responses. My RIO has 34 pins in total.
Abstract
This paper exhibits the design and development of a preliminary identification of predictors of COVID-19
by using 3 sensors in one system. The advancements in technology has led to increasing expenses in the
healthcare sector, so the proposed system will be technologically advanced. During this Pandemic, this
project aims to develop content in the COVID-19 category. The system consists of mainly 3 sensors: ECG
module, temperature sensor and a pulse oximeter. The sensors will be integrated into one system. The
proposed solution promises a cost-effective, flexible platform that allows easy customization, run-time,
reconfiguration and energy efficient computation and communication.
The following key technologies:1)Cost-effective sensor hardware
2)Self-organizing sensor hardware
3)Scalable server software that analyzes sensor data and delivers real time updates to handheld devices.
