Hand in Hand is international network with its headquarter in United Kingdom (UK) and Hand
in Hand Afghanistan Organization (HIHAO) registered as a nongovernment organization (NGO)
on Dec 21, 2006 registration#: 890 with the Ministry of Economy and hereinafter referred as
‘HIHAO’. It Main office is Balkh and regional office in Herat.
Supporting vulnerable returnee women through skills development and entrepreneurial support
in Herat province of Afghanistan is a one-year project with the financial support of Hand in
Hand International to implement in Herat city and Injil district of Herat province.
Job Description:
The Childcare Center Facilitator will work under the direct supervision of the project manager
and office manager of HIHAO Herat Office and will perform the following duties:
1. Design and Follow a Complete Teaching Plan:
o Create engaging lesson plans that align with educational standards.
o Incorporate activities, songs, stories, and games to motivate and
stimulate children’s abilities.
2. Teach Alphabet and Numeracy:
o Introduce children to letters, numbers, and basic math concepts.
o Foster language development and early literacy skills.
3. Organize Learning Material and Resources:
o Prepare materials such as books, art supplies, and educational tools.
o Ensure a stimulating and safe classroom environment.
4. Maintain an Open Line of Communication with Parents:
o Regularly update parents on their child’s progress.
o Provide appropriate information and address any concerns.
5. Assess Student Performance and Progress:
o Monitor children’s development and ensure they are mastering
essential skills.
o Use various assessment methods to evaluate their growth.
6. Nurture Cooperation and Sharing:
o Encourage positive interactions among students.
o Promote social skills and emotional development.
7. Comply with Teaching Standards and Safety Regulations:
o Follow guidelines for classroom management and safety.
o Cooperate with administrative staff and fellow educators.
Job Requirements:
At least 12 grade pass and bachelor degree in education or relevant fields will be preferable
1 to 2 years of similar experience
Fluency in Dari and Pashto and English languages will be an asset.
Required Skills:
Proven Working Experience: Previous experience as a kindergarten teacher, assistant,
or teacher aide.
Knowledge of Child Development: Understand child development theories and
practices.
Creative and Artistic Teaching Abilities: Use innovative methods to engage young
learners.
Teaching and Organization Skills: Plan lessons effectively and manage classroom
activities.
Patience and Flexibility: Adapt to the needs of diverse students.
Strong Communication Skills: Maintain open communication with parents and
colleagues.
Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest trends and best practices in education.
Education Background: A BSc degree in education or a relevant license/certificate.
