Daily Lesson Plan

Day/Date ; Subject PHYSICS Class 11T

Duration : 35 min Week : 3rd Term : first

Topic: Potential divider and calculations associated with it

Learning outcomes (what would learning look like by the
Learning objectives
end of the lesson)
Students will understand and learn to apply the principles Students will be able calculate and analyze the output
of a potential divider to determine the output voltage in a voltage of a potential divider and understand its impact on
circuit based on resistor values circuit design.

Learning Activities:

 Voltage Calculation Exercises:

 Activity: Students will work through problems to calculate the output voltage of potential dividers, using various resistor
values and applying the potential divider formula.
 Objective: To practice applying the potential divider formula and understand how different resistors affect the output
voltage.

 Interactive Simulation Labs:

 Activity: Students will use circuit simulation software (e.g., Tinkercad, Multisim) to build potential divider circuits. They will
adjust resistor values and measure the output voltage to see real-time effects.
 Objective: To visualize the operation of potential dividers and explore how resistor changes impact the output voltage in a
controlled virtual environment.

 Circuit Design Challenges:

Activity: Students will design potential divider circuits to achieve specific target voltages. They will choose and adjust resistor values
to meet given specifications.
Objective: To apply theoretical knowledge in a practical context, enhancing understanding of how to design circuits that meet
specific voltage requirements.

 Analysis of Example Circuits:

Activity: Students will analyze provided examples of potential divider circuits, determining the output voltage and evaluating the
impact of resistor changes. They will interpret circuit diagrams and solve related questions.
Objective: To reinforce understanding of how potential dividers function and how resistor values influence circuit behavior through
hands-on analysis.

Assessment Opportunities:
Assessment will include evaluating students' accuracy in calculating output voltage in potential dividers, their proficiency with
circuit simulations, the effectiveness of their circuit designs, and the clarity of their analysis reports on how resistor changes affect
voltage.
Homework: incomplete classwork cannot be assigned as homework:

Lesson Evaluation: reflect on what went well and what needs to be improved in the next lesson vis-à-vis students’ progress
