Rationale
Time management is the process of organizing and planning how to divide your time

between different activities. Get it right, and you'll end up working smarter, not harder, to get

more done in less time – even when time is tight and pressures are high. The highest

achievers manage their time exceptionally well (Mindtools, 2024).

Time management is the skill of planning your tasks based on the time you have to work.

These skills can help you prioritize items in your daily schedule that allows you to finish them

on time. With practice, they can ensure you're doing what you're supposed to at the right

time. Time management can take many forms like using a checklist or a timer to track your

progress throughout the day (Herririty, 2022).

Effective time management is associated with greater academic performance and lower

levels of anxiety in students; however many students find it hard to find a balance between

their studies and their day-to-day lives. This article examines the self-reported time

management behaviors of undergraduate engineering students using the Time Management

Behavior Scale (Blair & Adams, 2019).

Time management is the ability of consciously deciding and controlling the amount of time

spent on different activities in order to be more productive and effective. In order to achieve

academic success, students should be able to manage a large number of activities, from

going to lectures, studying, participating in extra-curricular activities, to making sure they are

getting enough rest to stay healthy. The purpose of this research was to determine if there

are any significant differences in the effective time management between Chinese and

Croatian students (Črnjar & Čikeš, 2019).

As a student, why would time management be important to you? Losing track of or running

out of time can be frustrating. Time management is critical when learning new things and is a

skill applicable to every aspect of your life. Planning and managing your time will help you in

the future with school, work, and other projects. Developing a plan or schedule can help

ensure you have enough time to devote to studying, so that you succeed in achieving your

goals (5 reasons why, 2024)

Understanding how criminology students at Saint Columban College manage their time is

really important. Good time management helps them do well in their studies and prepares

them for their future jobs. By figuring out how students handle their time, teachers can help

them improve their study habits and do better in their classes. Plus, knowing how to manage

time is super important when they start working in jobs related to criminology, like in police

stations or research centers. It's not just about doing well in school – it's also about making

sure students feel good and don't get too stressed out. If we can spot where students might

need help with managing their time, we can give them support and tips to make things

easier. This research also helps teachers and schools understand what works best for

students in their program, so they can make things better for everyone.
