2002-2012 Jaguar X-Type Key FOB Remote Programming
2002-2012 Jaguar X-Type Key FOB Remote Programming
Note: Every Remote you have must be programmed at the same time. If you only program one
remote and have other remotes already programmed it will render them useless unless you
program them again at the same time.
Note: These Instructions only program the 4 buttons on your remote. If you need a new key
programmed to start your vehicle and only have one key you will need to go to your local
Jaguar Dealer/Locksmith. If you have two keys programmed already all you need is a new key
cut you can program your 3rd and 4th keys yourself.
When you pull the key out, does it still chime with car door open? When you press lock on your
remote does your vehicle beep and not lock? Look at the barrel in the ignition where you insert
the key, with the key removed there should be a little door that drops down over the hole, it
may be stuck open. If it is your remote won’t work. First wiggle the key as you take it out and
see if the door closes. If it doesn’t squirt a little WD40 in there and work the key in and out until
it does. Your remote should work after the door closes.

enabled.
If the remote transmitter has been accepted, the GEM will make a chime.
6. If any other remote transmitters are to be programmed, press any button once on each
transmitter within 10 seconds.
