1.0INTRODUCTION
This report outlines the concept approach of the structural design carried out with the
basic parameters adopted and design assumptions considered towards the structural analysis catering
the functional and structural requirements compatible with the architectural requirements of the
building.
Scope of work:
The broad scope of works is as under:
Design basis report
Structural drawings
Site Location.
The proposed project site is located at Suryalanka
The structure is designed for the forces and moments resulted under the effect of intended
design loads. In the structural design, dead, imposed and wind loads and forces such as those
caused by earthquake, as per the relevant Indian Standards.
The structural members will be analysed and designed taking into consideration the
probability of various service loads acting together during the construction stage and after
occupation. As per Clause 18.2.1 of IS 456: 2000, the limit state method of design will be followed
for the design of all the structural members, as per this method, the design loads will be arrived at
using partial safety factors for various inactions as per Table 18 to IS 456: 2000.

(a) Static Method is used for the seismic analysis to have the seismic effect for entire building.
(b) Based on the Seismic analysis and Wind analysis for higher value of load combinations,
the design and detailing are carried out for the structural elements like Footing, Plinth
Beams, Floor Beams, Roof Beam, Roof slab.
(d) All the Footings are analysed in RCDC for the critical load combination obtained from
STAAD.
(e) Superstructures are analysed in the STAAD Pro and later detailed in RCDC. The Plinth
beam, Roof beam of reinforcements are designed and detailed in RCDC as per IS Code
456:2000 & IS 13920:2016.
(f) One-way slab and Two-way slab have been designed and analysed in STAAD and later
detailed in RCDC as per IS 456:2000 and SP34.
