INSTRUCTIONS WORK SPACE
INTRODUCTION
At Bluebeam we’ve always developed tools and features that enable workflows to help you get your
work done faster, with higher quality and in a way that meets the specific needs of your projects and
how you prefer to work. We believe that software should complement your expertise, not try to
replace it. This is our purpose, to empower people to advance the way the world is built.
One of the things we hear most often from our users is that they feel like they are just scratching the
surface of what Revu can do. With so many tools and features included, it’s not hard to feel that
way, so, we wanted to help! We absolutely recommend visiting our free training videos page and
exploring our robust training options, yet, there is something else we want to share…
…Tips and Tricks!
Tips and Tricks are those little things that people tend to stumble into and think, where has this
been all my life?! With this document we hope to share with you some of Revu’s most popular tips
and tricks to make you even more efficient with Revu’s tools and features. However, this comes with
a warning; mastery of these tips and tricks may result in hero status among colleagues. If you’re
ready to take that on, keep going!
This guide is formatted so that the instructions for each tip is listed on the left side while a
workspace is provided on the right to try it out for yourself. For those tips that aren’t markup-based,
we provided an illustration on the right side. We have set up many of the workspaces for you
already, so you can focus only on the instructions as written. With that in mind, save a copy of the
file each time you run through it in case you make changes that render the intent of the workspace
unclear.
The table of contents is hyperlinked so you can quickly navigate to specific tips. You can return to
the table of contents by clicking the “back to contents” hyperlink in the lower right-hand corner of
each page.
There is also a blank page for you to add any tips and tricks you discover on your own. Feel free to
write up the instructions and share your enhanced guide with your teammates!

AANGEPASTE SNELTOETSEN

ESSENTIAL
REVU TIPS
& TRICKS
1. Call out multiple areas on a drawing
from a single comment
Place the Callout tool on the PDF, then right-click the See Specs
You can also try highlighting the text in a document. Vector documents will allow for text
to be selected, whereas scanned documents will only recognize text if OCR has been run.
Vector files allow you to snap to content to quickly get the most accurate measurements,
so we recommend asking for vector files instead of scans whenever possible.
Note: Some vector content may not be selectable, such as SHX font.
8. Export PDFs to Word or Excel format
You can bring your PDF back to Microsoft ® Word or
Excel® by going to File > Export and then pick your
preferred export file type. This is especially useful
if you need to make many changes to a text-based
document, but only have the PDF version.
If you need to translate text that is in the original PDF, you can either select the text and
copy and paste it into a text box, then follow the translation process above. Or, follow
Tip #9 followed by the translation process, and the translated text will appear in your
Markups List summary report.
The file can be password-protected and set to expire either at the end of the project or
after 24 hours. As long as the link is valid, it will always contain the latest version of the
document that has been updated within the Studio Project.
To color-code a markup, go to the Status column in the Markups List, click on Manage
Status, select a state (such as approved, rejected, etc.), and then select Modify to
choose a color for that state.
Go to the Spaces panel, right-click your selected Space name in the list and select “Copy.”
You can also select multiple Spaces in the list by holding down the Shift key while making
your selections, and then choosing Copy. Paste into your selected document.
20. Quickly calculate area
measurements within Spaces
You can get area measurements directly from
Spaces. Just right-click on the Space and select
“Create Area From Space.”
