interview preparation process for job seekers. Developed using Next.js, the application leverages modern web
technologies to provide a seamless and interactive experience. The integration of Clerk Authentication ensures
secure and efficient user management, while Drizzle ORM facilitates robust and scalable database interactions.

The application offers a dynamic and realistic interview simulation, powered by artificial intelligence, to help
users practice and refine their interview skills. It provides tailored mock interviews, real-time feedback, and
performance analytics to help users improve their responses and build confidence. The platform supports various
interview formats and technical assessments, making it a versatile tool for preparing for diverse job roles.

Overall, the AI Mock Interview Web Application combines cutting-edge technology with a user-centric design to

mentorship, or who are preparing for interviews in specialized or technical fields.

Client Identification: The primary clients of the AI Mock Interview Web Application are job seekers across
various industries and experience levels. This includes recent graduates, mid-career professionals, and individuals
transitioning between roles or fields. These users require a reliable platform that offers comprehensive and
adaptable interview preparation solutions.

Need Identification: There is a significant need for an innovative tool that provides:

 Progress: The foundational backend architecture has been implemented using Node.js,
ensuring scalability and efficiency. Initial API integration for generating interview questions
using AI is in the testing phase. User authentication and basic session management are already
operational.

 Progress: The initial user interface has been designed, and the core components for the
interview session interface have been developed. We are currently refining the user
experience and making the interface more intuitive.

planned for the next development phase. Initial research into model training and available
APIs has been completed.

intelligence to generate tailored interview questions and provides feedback based on the user’s responses.
The goal is to help candidates improve their interview skills through repeated practice and performance
analysis.

The key objectives of the project are:

 To simulate real-world interview experiences using AI-driven question generation.


 To provide users with personalized feedback on their interview performance.
 To track user progress over time, allowing users to identify areas for improvement.
 To create an intuitive, user-friendly interface for seamless interaction.

3. Current Status / Prototype Overview

We are currently in the development phase, with the following progress made:

Backend (Node.js):

 User Authentication: Basic sign-up and login functionalities have been implemented.
 Interview Session Management: The backend supports the initiation and management of
interview sessions.
 AI Research: Preliminary research into the integration of an AI model to generate interview
questions is underway.
 Question Database: A basic question bank for various job roles has been developed to test
the functionality before AI integration.

Frontend (NextJs):

 User Interface: A working prototype of the interview dashboard has been created, allowing
users to start mock interviews.
 Interview Session Interface: A basic interface allows users to view questions and submit
responses. Work is ongoing to improve the UI for better engagement.

AI Integration (Planned):

 We plan to integrate a Natural Language Processing (NLP) model that will analyze user
responses and provide feedback. AI question generation will also be implemented to simulate
diverse interview scenarios based on user-selected topics.

Given the dynamic nature of AI integration and user experience design, we have shifted to an agile
methodology. This allows the team to iteratively develop, test, and refine the application in smaller
sprints, incorporating user feedback and responding to new insights as they arise.

 Sprints: Short, time-boxed sprints (2 weeks) are used to focus on specific modules such as
authentication, AI integration, and UI enhancement.
 Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives: At the end of each sprint, progress is reviewed, and
retrospectives are held to identify areas of improvement for the next sprint.
 Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Automated testing and
deployment pipelines ensure that code updates are frequently and safely integrated into the
