USB File Transfer

• USB File Transfer module is to be used to Upload and Download the files from RICT
device in case of Network Unavailability.

• This is the offline mode of file transfer between RICT device and Central server.

• External USB Drive and MDM portal are used to facilitate the offline file transfers to
and from the RICT device.

Following 3 operations can be
performed in this module:

1. Offline Upload. To upload the

data files from RICT device to
1 central server.

2. Offline Download. To download

the files from the Central server
2 to the RICT device.

3. Download Acknowledgement. To
download the Acknowledgement
3 files, for the offline uploaded
files, from the Central server to
the RICT device.

Offline Upload
Steps to be followed are:
Step 1
Insert the USB drive in the USB port
2 provided in RICT device.

NOTE : Following path should be

available in the USB drive:
/USB/Upload/DEMOBOOKING

Step 2
Click OFFLINE UPLOAD button.

3. The progress bar will be popped up
on screen. In the background following
checks will be performed by the
3 device:
a) It will check if the USB drive is
present.
b) Afterwards, it will search for the
files present in device for Upload.
c) If the files are present, they will be
fetched and package will get
encrypted and moved to USB.

After the successful transfer of

Packaged files from device to USB
drive, a success message will be
shown on screen.

Step 4.
Click on “OK” button.

5. The nomenclature for the

encrypted TAR package is as follows:

BOID_DATE.tar

Now, the user will carry the USB

drive to the respective Account
Office to upload the data to the
server.

Step 6
At AO, user needs to Login to MDM file server
(https://172.16.20.65:9445/dop/home) with valid Username and Password
on the login screen is shown above.

Step 7
Click on Sign In button.

Step 8
After successful Login, above screen will appear. Select device management
tab for any RICT device related operation.

Step 9
Click on Offline Application Management tab. This option is for Offline File
Operations.

Step 10
Select application name “DEMOBOOKING” from the Application Name
dropdown menu.

Step 11
Select Action as “Upload” from the dropdown menu.

Step 12
Enter the BO ID of the RICT device whose files are to be uploaded.

Step 13
Click on Browse button, a screen will prompt to select the TAR package for
upload. Go to /USB/DEMOBOOKING/Upload and select the package.

Step 14
Click on Submit button to initiate the upload of tar package to Central Server.

Step 15
Click on Back button to go back to Device Management Menu.

16. A success message box will appear after uploading the files to server with
the message “Files Uploaded Successfully.”
Step 17
User will be prompted to Download the Acknowledgement for the successfully
uploaded files. Click OK to download.
Step 18
Click Cancel to cancel the download of Acknowledgement file.

Step 1
In Offline Application Manage on MDM file server, select DEMOBOOKING as
Application Name from the dropdown.

Step 2
Select action as Download from Server from the Action dropdown.

Enter the BO ID of the RICT device whose files are to be downloaded.

Step 4
Click on Submit button to initiate the download of tar package from Central
Server.

Step 5
Click on Back button to go back to Device Management Menu.

Note:
• Nomenclature of Package file is
PackageFile_BOOKINGAPPNAME_BOID_DATE.tar.

• Post download, place the Package file in USB device at location:

/USB/Download/DEMOBOOKING.

Step 6
Click OFFLINE DOWNLOAD.

NOTE : USB Drive must be connected to

device before above step.

Step 7
Click on Date to open the Calendar to
select the date for which the files are
7 yet to be downloaded.
Note: The calendar window is explained
in next slide with steps, 8,9,10.

Step 11
Click OK button to confirm the date
and initiate the Download of package
from the USB Drive.

Step 12
11 Click CLOSE to cancel the download.

Select the date from the Calendar.

Step 9
Click CANCEL button to go back to USB
Download Menu.

Step 10
Click OK to confirm the Date selected.

A success screen will appear with
message “Files downloaded
successfully !!”

Click on OK button to complete the

Download process.

Step 1
In Offline Application Manage page on MDM file server, select DEMOBOOKING as
Application Name from the drop-down.
Step 2
Select action as Download Acknowledgment from the Action drop-down.

Step 3
Enter the BO ID of the RICT device whose Acknowledgment files are yet to be
downloaded.
Step 4
Select Date from the calendar for which Acknowledgment files are to be
downloaded.

Click on Submit button to initiate the download of encrypted csv file from
Central Server.

Click on Back button to go back to Device Management Menu.

Click OK on the download confirmation dialog box to download the encrypted
csv file at specified location.

Click DOWNLOAD ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Note:
a) USB Drive must be connected to
device before above step.

b) Nomenclature of Encrypted csv file is:

8 The encrypted csv file in USB device must

be present at location:
/USB/Download/DEMOBOOKING.

9. The progress bar will be displayed

on screen. In the background
following checks will be performed
9 by the device:

 It will check if the USB drive is

present.
 Afterwards, it will search for the
files present in USB Drive for ACK
Download.
 If the encrypted csv file is present, it
will be fetched and package will get
decrypted and moved to device.

Step 10
A success screen will appear with
message “Acknowledgment
Downloading process completed ”

Click on OK button to complete the

Download Acknowledgment process.

USB File Transfer - Steps Review
No Description
1 For uploading files from device to central server, user will connect the USB Drive and click ‘OK’
button to copy files to USB drive.
2 User will login the MDM portal with valid credentials and will go to Device Management →
Offline Application Manage.
3 User will select the ‘Application Name’, ‘BO ID’, ‘Action’ as upload and browse the file from the
USB Drive. User will click the submit button to generate acknowledgement file. User can
download the acknowledgement file for last uploads as well.
4 User will copy the acknowledgement file tar from system to USB and connect it with device.
User will select the ‘date’ from calendar and click on ‘DOWNLOAD ACKNOWLEDGEMENT’
button.
5 For downloading files from central server to device, user will login the MDM portal with valid
credentials and will go to Device Management → Offline Application Manage.
6 User will select the ‘Application Name’, ‘BO ID’, ‘Action’ as download from server and click on
‘Submit’ button.
7 User will copy the downloaded files tar from system to USB and connect it with device. User will
select the ‘date’ from calendar and click on ‘DOWNLOAD FILES’ button.
