Part 1 - Pile Work

1 CONSTRUCTION OF PILES
BORED CAST-IN SITU PILES
Construction of Piles (Boring, Placing, casting and installing) cast in situ under
reamed single bulb piles of specified diameter and length below pile cap in M-25
cement concrete (ready mix concrete), to carry a safe working load not less than
specified, excluding the cost of steel reinforcement but including the cost of
boring, admixture as approved, single bulb, bentonite solution and the length of
the pile to be embedded in pile cap etc. all complete.
(Length of pile for payment shall be measured upto to the bottom of pile cap).
Nothing extra will be paid for dismatling of pile over pile cap.
Contractor to do with TMR Method for pile boring and making of bulb's
method can do with Augar & Pouring of concrete through Tremie Pipe.

1. Placing & Filling of Pile Concrete work shall be as per IS-456 (latest edition)
characteristic strength (28 days) shall be 25 N/Sq mm as may be specified on
drawings.
Note : All arrangement or cordination, handling of RMC (Supplied by
Client free of Cost) for casting of pile, and supplier of concrete, cube
testing, documents, reports, should be arranged by the contractor at
specified lab as instruction by Site Incharge.

Providing additional bulb in under reamed piles, under specified dia meter (Only
the quantity of extra bulbs are to be paid).

Pile Bulb Size - 40% Extra or (as per IS standrad) of Pile Dia & Depth of
Bulb approximate 1.0 M.
2 Providing & fixing in position DEFORMED STEEL BAR REINFORCEMENT
(Reinforcement conforming to have minimum yeild strength f = 415M/mm2 ) with
helical ties, including straightening, cleaning, decoiling, cutting, bending &
binding to required shapes and lengths as per desing and details, binding it by
Galvanised binding wire (16 SWG) at every intersection, supplying and placing
with proper cover blocks as per drawing and specifications, supports, overlaps,
inner rings welding to main longitudinal rods to form a rigid cage, providing guide
bar, ensuring exposed reinforcement to be kept clean & intact with cement wash
etc. for basic pile length.The laps of main vertical reinforcement bars shall be fillet
welded.The welding length & welding electrode & welding method shall be as per
the drawing, specification and conforming to IS/American Welding Society (AWS)
standard, labours, tools & tackles etc., for all heights and depths, etc.
complete as per the specifications and directions of Engineer-in-Charge.
(Note: Reinforcemnt Steel will be supplied by Client free of cost.)

PILE TESTING
3.1 Carrying out specified INITIAL cyclic load test on test piles as specified in IS
2911 / American Standards, including all plant, equipment, machinery, jacks,
instruments, measuring devices, finishing pile head, structural frame for platforms
and Kentledge, pile caps, dismantling and carting away entire set-up,
labour, compaction,excavation and back-filling and dewatering etc., all
complete as per the specifications and directions of Engineer-in-Charge, analysing
the results, making the report and submitting the same in 3 copies (Excluding cost
of pile).
