Components?
is a general term to
describe all the
physical parts of a
computer system.

Central Processing Unit(CPU)
Memory(RAM- Random Access Memory)
Motherboard
Storage
Power Supply Unit( PSU)
Graphics Processing Unit(GPU)
Input Divices
Output Divices
Cooling System

Central Proccesing Unit(CPU)
The “BRAIN” of
the computer,
responsible for
excuting
instructions and
processing data.
Memory (RAM- Random Access
Memory)
Temporary
storage that holds
data and
instructions for the
CPU while tasks
are being
processed.
MotherBoard
The main circuit board
that connects all
components of the
computer, including the
CPU, Memory, and other
peripherals.
Storage
Hard Disk Drive(HDD)/ Solid State
Drive (SSD): Long-term storage
for the operating system,
software, and files.

Optical Drives (e.g. DVD,Blueray


Drivers): For reading/writing
CD’s,DVD’s or Blu-ray discs (less
common in modern computers).
Power Supply Unit (PSU)

Converts electricity from


an outlet into usable
power for the computer’s
components.
Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)

Handles rendering
images,video, and
animations. Essential for
gaming,video editing , and
other graphic intensive
tasks.
Input Devices
Keyboard:Used to input
text and commands.

Mouse: Used for navigating


and interacting with the
computer’s interface.
Output Devices
Monitor/Display: Visual
output of the computer’s
Data.

Speakers/Headphones:
Audio output devices.
Cooling system
Fans and heat sinks:
Keep the GPU, CPU,
and other components
from overheating.
Liquid cooling: an
advanced cooling
method using liquid to
dissipate heat.
Networking Components
Network
Interface Card
(NIC)/Ethernet
Cable: enables
the computer to
connect to an
network.
Peripheral Ports
HDMI/DsiplayPort/VGA: for
connecting external displays.
USB Ports: For connecting
external devices like flash
drives,printers,and other
peripherals.
Audio jacks: For connecting
headphones or microphones.
What is Software
Components?
The idea of software components
formalizes the definition of these
“smaller parts”: A software
component is basically a software
unit with a well-defined interface
and explicitly specified
dependencies. A software
component can be as small as a
block of reusable code, or it can be
as big as an entire application.
