RESISTANCES VALUES
RXY 1343 Ω
RAB 942 Ω
RXY was the measurement of the total resistance of the circuit with the jumper wire attached, RAB was
the measurement of resistors 2 and 3 added together in parallel with the jumper attached. After
removing the jumper, we measured RPB, it came out to be 4860 Ω which is resistors 4 and 5 added
together in series. Finally, we remeasured RAB and received the same value as before, this is because
even with the jumper removed, RAB consisted of resistors 2 and 3 which remained the same.

R4 2700 Ω 2671 Ω
R5 560 Ω 559 Ω

𝑅𝑇 = 568.97Ω + 463.8Ω = 1032.77Ω
When first measuring total resistance between point A and B, we received 1021 Ω as our total. While
measuring resistance between point X and Y, we obtained 561 Ω. After connecting a jumper wire
between point X and Y and then remeasuring total resistance, we gained a new total of 458 Ω. That
number did not change even after removing R2. This is because the jumper wire acts as a new path for
the current to travel, instead of having to travel through all 3 resistors therefore increasing resistance,
it goes straight through the jumper wire and onto R4 and R5. In other terms, the jumper wire shorted
out the first 3 resistors, only measuring the final 2.
