Lab 1: Activities using word processor software.

Step 1: Create a document using Ms-Word as shown below


Computer fundamentls.
A computer system consists of three uints.
A Processing unit
An input unit
An output unit
Processing unit is the main part of the omcpcuer system. It is considered the brain or heart of the
computer system. It is further divided into the following units
Arightmetic and Logic Unit
Control Unit
Memory Unit
Input unit consists of all those devices which aer used to feed data to the compter. Some of the input
devices are mentioned below
Keyboard
Mouse
Scanner

Step 2: Copy and Paste Activity

Copy the last para i.e. input unit …and paste it in the end of the document and make
the changes in the last para as shown below

Output unit consists of all those devices which aer used to give back information from the compter.
Some of the output devices are mentioned below
Monitor
Printer
Speaker

Step 3: Spelling and grammar check

Right click on the text mark with red underlines and choose the right spelling. Right
click on the text marked with blue underline and choose the correct grammar. (You
can also perform spelling and grammar check from Spelling and grammar option in
the review tab)

Step 3: Formatting the document

Press ctrl + A to select the entire document and select the font style and size from
the Home tab (Ribbon) Font Region Ex: Times New Roman, 12

Select justify and 1.5 line spacing from paragraph region

Select document heading (computer fundamentals) and select centre from the
paragraph region and change the font style, size and color from the paragraph
region

a) Select the points

From the paragraph region select numbering.

b) Select the points


Keyboard
Mouse
Scanner

From the paragraph region select bullets.

c) Select the points

Printer
Speaker

From the paragraph region select bullets.

Step 4: Saving your document

Click on Save button from File Menu, select the folder where you want to save your
file and type the name of your document and click on save button to save your
document.

Creating Worksheets in Excel, Inserting, Deleting, Copying, Moving worksheets in


Excel Usage of formulas, Built-in functions in Excel

Solution:
1. Insert a worksheet

 Select the plus icon at the bottom of the screen.


 Or, select Home > Insert > Insert Sheet.

2. Rename a worksheet

 Double-click the sheet name on the Sheet tab to quickly rename it.
 Or, right-click on the Sheet tab, click Rename, and type a new name.

3. Delete a worksheet

 Right-click the Sheet tab and select Delete.


 Or, select the sheet, and then select Home > Delete > Delete Sheet.

4. Copy a worksheet in the same workbook

 Press CTRL and drag the worksheet tab to the tab location you want.

5. Move a worksheet within a workbook

 Select the worksheet tab and drag it to where you want it.

6. Usage of formulas in Excel

 Create a table for monthly sales and enter the formulas as given below
 Discount Price: =B6-(B6*C6/100)
 Total Sales: =D6*E6

7. Using Built in functions in Excel

 Net Amount: =SUM (F6:F10)

Lab 3: Activities using presentation software.

Creating a presentation in PowerPoint- - Inserting / Deleting slides in


PowerPoint

Solution
1. Creating a power point presentation

 When you launch the PowerPoint program, you may be prompted to


pick what kind of document you want to create. Choose to create a blank
presentation to start.
 Next select the design you want for the presentation. Go to the
'Design' tab at the top of the page and select the layout and design.
 Click the first box that says 'Click to add title' and add the title of your
presentation as shown in the sample slide.

2. Add slides

 Select the slide you want your new one to follow.


 Select Home > New Slide.
 Select a layout.
 Select the text box and type.

3. Delete slides

 Select your slide.


 You can delete one or more slides at once:
 For a Single slide - Right-click and select Delete Slide.
 For Multiple slides - Hold Ctrl and select the slides you want then right-
click and select Delete Slide.
 Sequence of slides - Hold Shift and select a sequence of slides then
right-click and select Delete Slide.

4. You start presentation by selecting start from beginning option


from slide show tab or by simply pressing the F5 function key.

Installation and using of flowgarithms software for different arithmetic tasks like sum,
average, product, difference, quotient and remainder of given numbers, calculate area of
Shapes (Square, Rectangle, Circle and Triangle), arrays and recursion.
