FebFun: A Valentines Day Celebration 2024

SY: 2023-2024

Valentine's Day is the time to express love, friendship, and affection. At Kalubihon High
School, the occasion proved to be really a very enthusiastic and participatory one on the part of
the students and the faculty. The activity would help build up a better community with good
comradeship amongst the students and add cheer to the daily routines of academic discipline.
Event Preparations:
Starting a few weeks in advance from Valentine's Day, the Student Council, guided by the
teacher, had planned a set of activities to make the day a successful one. The school premises
were decorated with heart-shaped ornaments, red and pink balloons, and banners bearing
messages of love and friendship. The preparation committee tried hard and succeeded in turning
the school into a festive environment, depicting the very spirit of the occasion.
Activity programmes:
The celebration started with an opening ceremony in the school auditorium, where the main
celebrant, the principal, gave a very inspiring speech concerning the essence of love and
kindness. Next came a string of stellar performances, where songs, dances, and skits all
articulately pronounced variations of love: romantic love, the love of friendship, and the ties within
families
. One of the day's highlights was the "Valentine's Day Card Exchange," in which the
students exchanged personal, self-made cards with their heart-felt messages inside. The students
loved this activity as it gave them scope to be creative and express their emotions meaningfully.
Next was the "Best Dressed Couple" event, for which the students were to participate in
pairs, showcasing Valentine's Day-themed outfits. Moreover, there was a fun-some contest added
to the excitement of the day, wherein small tokens of appreciation were given to winners.
Besides that, there were booths aligned around the school containing all sorts of activities:
face painting, photo booths, and even a "Message Wall" where notes could be posted
anonymously to friends and crushes. The above activities allowed the students to get to know
each other and interact with one another in a quite relaxed and friendly manner.

The Valentine's Day celebration in Kalubihon High School was one of those days that
are always remembered, as it drew the whole family of the school closer to one another. It
was worth the hard work and effort of the committee in charge-put together with a very
active participation by the students and faculty-that made the day be filled with laughter
and happiness in quite a meaningful way of connecting one's self with others. It has left an
indelible mark in the minds and hearts of everyone at that moment, reminding us all of the
beauty of love and friendship.
