Note: “Fragments” will be written in a way that it’s directed if it was a pilot episode; as it was
originally envisioned. When reading this, imagine as though it was a script/crappy light novel
hybrid. Thanks.
The scene starts with the point of view of a child whose name is nothing but a blur. We’re taken
in scene by scene that are core essences of someone’s childhood. displaying fragments of what
seems to be moments that took place in a backyard. Playing tag, hide & seek and most of all
roleplaying as power rangers characters. The excitement of taking the lead and being in control
created this rivalry between the unnamed child and his identical twin. White ranger versus lord
zedd, good versus evil, justice or injustice. Who will come out victorious? The unnamed child Is
shown to have a caring heart. He has an interest amongst bugs, most of all caterpillars. His
obsession led him to willingly have one crawl on his pawn, as an offering of peace. “HEY! You
wanna play power rangers? " says the sibling. The nameless child doesn’t respond, fixated with
the caterpillars movements. “Pleasee you never play with me anymore!'' The nameless child
continues to ignore his brother. only then he stopped when his brother said the forbidden words
he wished he never heard. “you’re not my brother anymore.” The nameless child turns around in
shock. Revealing his identical sibling without a face, a complete blank flesh. This terrified the
unnamed child, causing him to hyperventilate. The feeling of pressure against his body, almost
like a hole is forming inside of him. As the world falls apart around him, the nameless child is
dragged into the depth of a river by an unknown force. Darkness consumed every inch of his
body as he sunk even deeper into the river. He lets out one final breath out of desperation.
Amos gasps, waking up in cold sweat and suddenly he’s in his 4 by 4 room. It was a nightmare.
He stares at the reflection across his room, and stares back at his palm. He stays for a moment
to recollect his senses, Only to be interrupted by a buzzing noise from his table. It’s a phone
call.
Chapter 2: Reunion
Second Scene begins at a dinner table outside a café bar, Amos watches his father, Issac,
disgustingly as he injects himself with a syringe. His father invited him to a place to eat for
breakfast as it is his first day living in New York city.
Issac: It ain’t easy. I can tell ya that, better get used to it because this city isn’t how it used to be.
I don’t even remember the last time I had a good night's sleep.
Isacc: this thing is what’s keeping your old guy from winning against it.
Isaac Chuckles
Issac: ok
Amos: Retire now and leave the rest to the new folks. I'm serious, you’ve been at it for so long.
Get a grip.
*Issac looks out from the distance, admiring how nice the weather is*
Issac: You know, this reminds me of when you were 8 years old. Stubborn little guy you were.
You also used to go out a lot watching caterpillars… Both you and Abraham used to fight each
other too man!
Issac: We used to call you the mole king because you were all covered in dirt!
Issac lets out a hysterical laugh following painful coughs. Issac proceeds to clear his throat,
downplaying his deteriorating health.
Issac: You do know I'm doing it for him… it’s the only reason why I’m still a detective.
Issac: that’s why i’m happy that you transferred back here kid. I feel like we both can finally get
the closure we deserve.
Issac locks eyes with Amos with a stern look on his face
Amos storms out without saying goodbye. The pain his father dugout of the grave has left Amos
in a state of bitterness and anger.
[Scene: Amos at work in the ambulance, He still feels resentment after his conversation with his
father. accompanying him are his peers, Grace and Dante]
Grace: I get it, sleeping in New York City ain’t that easy, police siren are everywhere its drives
me nuts.
Dante: tell me about it, i feel like lately people’s been on edge since the Church incident at 49th
Street, you know, the group suicide.
“Unit 12, we have a report of an estimated six bodies on the scene. They seem to be
unresponsive. Please respond.”
Dante takes the wheel and takes the two at the located area of where the scene takes place.
Through a rush of traffic the ambulance irruptly comes to a stop.
To Amos surprise the place they’ll be going in was no other than Hotel Chelsea. Amos,Grace
and Dante make their way upstairs towards a floor under the number “8” where the bodies are
located. The hallway reeks of ashes and pennies, putting the three unease. They enter into a
door that’s covered half assed with police tape as if it was done by a child. The room had 10
bodies laid on the floor in black pouches, forming a circle. Amongst the circle formation, in the
center lies a pit of burnt logs and reminisce of documents. The three of them, confused,
question both cops in the scene about the situation.
Cop 1: we’ve secure the scene and gathered the proper evidence. Nothing much but a teen
gathering to me.
cop 2: Just a bunch of hippies taking more than they should have. They took a lethal amount of
Diphenhydramine, a Sleeping agent. We’re writing this case off as a group suicide.
Cop 1: take them all to the morgues as soon as possible, thanks.
Amos is bothered by these cop’s demeanor but reluctantly complies. He asks himself if the
police force really care at all about these people as he takes each of the bodies one by one
down stairs with the help of Dante. Dante discusses how odd the situation is, Grace agrees and
says she gets a weird feeling about it. After taking 9 of the bodies into the suv Amos is mentally
drained. From having a nightmare, the meeting with his father, to this crime scene stacking up
on him is already taking a toll on him. He picks up the final body head first with Dante on the
other end. They carry the body across the room only to then pause for a second.
Amos: …
Amos and Dante gently landed the body to the floor and opened the black pouch. Amos rushes
into his duffle aid bag to get his Defibrillators, wasting no time.
Amos attempts to resuscitate the man without hesitation. After many shocks, the man gasps for
air, bringing him back to life.
Amos tears up abit from this while the man stares at him blankly. He screams in horror upon
looking at Amos, Then passes out of exhaustion. Amos is confused and startled from this.
???- You know if it wasn’t for that kid you’d be dead by now.
the revived man opens his eyes, waking up in a dark hospital room, With a police officer
accompanying him, with his sleeves rolled up to his elbow.
Cop 2: Youse think I wouldn't recognize you, Dr. Stein? My daughter was part of your little
group, ya know. I've always wondered why she hasn't answered my calls lately. Little did I find
out, she died at dat hotel last night. Da same fuckin' hotel youse were in with your friends."
Cop 2: "I knew she was up ta no good. Why'd they take 'er and not you, damn it. Why are you
still alive! You fuckin' monsters took my daughter!"
The police officer fixates Stein's face before throwing another blow, intending to end the man’s
life. until he felt a tug on his arm that stopped him. It was Issac, he stares back at the man with a
stern look, promising him that he’ll be in deep shit if strikes the man again. The man hastily put
him brass knuckles into his pocket and stormed out the door without saying a word. Issac pulls
himself a chair next to Dr.Stein, attempting to show he means no harm. Issac offers a cigarette
to Stein. Dr Stein stares blankly at his lap, like some sort of puppet without a puppeteer. Issac
lights his cigarette and blows a cloud of smoke, breaking the silence.
Isaac: Sometimes it feels that i’m 5 steps ahead of the game, only to be find myself back to
square one. Isn’t it awful how much one’s expectation can ruin your day.
Issac: from what I understand you people go around manipulating civilians to join your religion
and call yourself saviors.
Issac: I knew what I was working with the moment I was on this case. I’ve done some work and I
came to realize that moments before people joined your group, people abandoned their lives.
Their families, pets, loved ones, house. They were willing to sacrifice their lives for this group,
Dedicated enough to leave everything behind. Many of them did exactly that. How did you get
that many people to do that?
Issac: another cult ritual kind of ordeal we’re having again? I asked myself. So then Case
closed. Right? Just plain manipulations coming from you.
Issac: I couldn’t help that something was off to be honest with you. I went through all your
member’s financial records and checked their transaction history, including yours, just so I can
be a hundred percent certain. Sure enough every single person had their bank accounts
completely wiped the day before the incident. The money just… POOFED, You know. Gone.
Vanished.
Issac: It just reminds me of a similar case while back. Still remember it like it was yesterday. You
are aware of the Church of the Assumption incident, no?
Issac: ten most powerful people from around the world gathered together in the Church of the
Assumption and off themselves. I’m talking about dictators, politicians, presidents from across
the globe.
Issac: The case was off our hands the moment I stepped into that church. I remember seeing
bodies in the center of the church surrounding a pit of ashes. The FBI had already been
investigating the matter. The kind of situation when helicopters were flying overhead.
Issac: I had no clue what the hell was going on, and before I knew it the news was now saying
that these powerful people’s stocks and bonds had vanished.
Dr.stein: I never agreed to be a part of it all.. I was supposed to look after them..
The man trembles in fear as tears pour down his face, almost as if the silence itself confirmed
his suspension. Issac puts off his cigarette and stares directly to Dr.Stein
Issac: his name is Amos, he’s the only child I have. the same kid that saved your life.
The man’s glances at the picture as he wipes tears off his face. His eyes widens in shock.
Dr. Stein: You can’t be here, you have to go now! Leave this city!
The man pleads with Issac to leave and believes that there’s greater things to fear than death,
shortly ending the conversation between them.
Chapter Four BLIND CHASE
The night falls, it’s 2am and Issac does his regular visit with Dr.Stein only to realize that he
escaped out of his room.
Issac: Dispatch, suspect has fled their bed. Requesting backup and pursuit assistance.”
Radio silent. Issac checks the open window, spotting Stein across the park lot walking into a
forest. Isaac Rushes down stairs and attempts to catch up to him. He eventually catches up to
Stein as he’s on his knees, begging forgiveness. He wishes to be spared to see his family again.
Issac from a distance call out his name, only feets away, Dr. Stein gets shot in the head in front
of isaac, splattering him in his blood. Issac froze from the shock but suddenly regains his sanity
and searches where the shot took place. Looking through buildings to building from above as he
sees a shadow figure putting away a large rifle from a distance. Issac starts chasing after this
shadowed figure.
After a long chase Issac ends up in an abandoned church and is short of breath. Issac shows
noticeably fatigued since the moment he chased the mysterious person.he’s disoriented yet he
recognizes the place he’s in. “to think you’re going through something so horrific” says the man,
echoing across the church. Issac sluggishly points his gun towards the direction of the voice
The mysterious man walks out of the shadow towards Issac. Revealing a man in a well fitted
dress shirt, wearing a Holster; resembling an outfit a detective wears in the police force. Yet he
conceals his identity with a paper plate mask.
The mystery man raises both hands up. Holding what seems to be the same case issac stashes
his insulin medication
Issac notices the case and pats down his jacket, realizing that he dropped his insulin injection
during the chase.
masked man: This takes me back you know. I’m getting this sense of nostalgia.
Issac realizes that has yet to regain his vision since the moment he took the syringe. Isaac
collapses from an overwhelming fatigue, his lack of insulin in his body.
Masked man: I've been meaning to ask you. Do you truly believe we all have a purpose?
Issac’s vision becomes incomprehensible only able to capture the man taking off his mask, Only
to knock unconscious right after.
