Q1: What are the basic requirements of Computer for connecting to the
Internet?
Ans :1)Internet Service Provider-We need to connect the Internet Service
Provider (ISP) which provides us with an internet connection by charging
a fee, for example, Airtel ,Vodafone Idea and Reliance Jio.
You also require a network device called the modem to connect the computer
to the internet.
2)Modem- Modem stands for modulator/ demodulator which convert
Analog signal to Digital and Digital to Analog.
3)Router-It is a device that shares your internet connection from ISP
between all devices by creating a Wi-Fi.
4)Wi-Fi is a wireless technology that connects computers, tablets and
smartphones to the internet.
Web browser – It is a software application that allows to
view a website using the internet.
Examples of web browsers
1) Address bar is used to type the web address (URL) of a web page.
2) Bookmark this page ( ) icon option is used to save the addresses of the web
pages we want to visit frequently .
3) The New tab ( + ) button is used to open multiple tabs in the same browser
window where you can view other web pages.
4) The History option allows you to view all the websites that you have visited inthe
past few weeks or days.
5) Back-It is used to go back to the previous web page that you been visited.
6) Forward –It is used to go to the page that you visited before you pressed the Back
button.
7) Reload – We use reload button to refresh the web page
8) Stop- While the web page is being loaded, the Reload icon changes to a Stop
icon. we can click the Stop icon to cancel the web page from loading, if it
takes too long to open.
3)A search engine is a special website that is used to search the web for a
particular piece of information
Search engine allows the user to enter keywords for which it displays a list of
websites containing those keywords.
The websites that are best matched with the keywords are displayed
first.
Each search engine identifies the best sites differently. Therefore,
different search engines display different results.
5) Refining your search
Using a hyphen-When we want to exclude some type of information from a search
we can type a hyphen(-) at the beginning of a word.
6)Content-specific searches-Most search engines have links at the top of the page
that allow to perform category-specific searches for
the information.
1)Video link-It will list videos related to search words entered in the search box.
2) Image link-It will display a list of images to the search words entered in the
search box.
3)News link-It will show the latest news related to the search words entered in the
search box.
