Basic Commands Click on an object to select it for editing. Edit an object by moving its control points. (Small hollow squares.) Rotate and scale an object by using the outer selection points. (Small filled squares.) Move an object by moving the center selection point; move along an axis by holding down the shift key. Multiple Objects Shift-click to select additional objects. When multiple objects are selected, hold the command (alt) key down to move control points. Dragging Objects To move objects, simply drag them. To move along an axis, hold the shift key down while dragging. To rotate objects, hold the option (ctrl) key down while dragging. To scale objects, hold the option (ctrl) and shift keys down while dragging.

Click to specify the first control point. Move and click to specify each new control point. Double-click to specify the last control point. Use the corner controls to choose between a polygon or a curve.

Polygon / Curve Tool

Click to specify one corner. Move to specify the opposite corner. Hold the shift key down to generate a square / circle. Click to finish. Use the corner controls to choose between a rectangle, a rounded rectangle, and an ellipse.

Axis-Aligned Rectangle / Ellipse Tool

To move the illustration, simply drag the illustration. To drag the illustration, click inside the view window, and then move the cursor around while keeping the button down. To move the illustration vertically or horizontally, hold the shift key down while dragging. To rotate the illustration, hold the option (ctrl) key down while dragging. To scale the illustration, hold the option (ctrl) and shift keys down while dragging.

Hand Tool

Click to specify the first control point. Move to specify a neigbouring control point. Use the left- and right-arrow keys to adjust the number of sides. Click to finish.

Regular Polygon Tool

Click and hold to specify one foci. Drag and release to specify the other foci. Move to specify the boundary. Click to finish.

Click to stroke, and not fill, objects.

To select a new stroke colour, click once to bring up a colour palette (hold down the option (ctrl) key to bring up a palette of colours that are similar to the current stroke colour) and then click once again to choose a colour from that palette.

Stroke Colour

To select a new fill colour, click once to bring up a colour palette (hold down the option (ctrl) key to bring up a palette of colours that are similar to the current fill colour) and then click once again to choose a colour from that palette.

Fill Colour

To specify a new stroke width, use the keyboard to enter a nonnegative numeric value; the stroke width is measured in pixels. A stroke width of zero hides the stroke.

Click to give objects sharp corners.

Click to give objects rounded (circular arc) corners.

Rounded Corners

Click to give objects smooth (elliptical arc) corners.

Smooth Corners

Use the corner controls to choose between rectangle, a rounded rectangle, and an ellipse.

To specify a new maximum corner radius, in pixels, use the keyboard to enter a non-negative numeric value. The maximum corner radius controls the amount of rounding or smoothing done to each of the object s corners. You can also specify a percentage; 100% produces corners that are as rounded or as smoothed as possible.
