1. A car travels at a rate of 30 km/h for 5 minutes and then at 40 km/h for 10 minutes find the total distance
travelled by the car and the average speed of the car. ( 9.17km, 36.68km/h )
2. The displacement of a particle starting from rest is given by x= 6t² –t³. Calculate the time at which the
particle will attend zero velocity again. ( 4s )
3. The displacement X = 8t² – 3t³. Calculate average velocity in t= 0 to t= 2s and t= 0 to t= 3s.

4. A car complete its journey along straight line in three equal parts with V 1, V2 and V3 respectively. Find the
average speed of the car.
5. An athlete runs along a circular track of radius 50m. Find the distance and displacement of the athlete

6. A car moving on a straight Road covers one third of the distance with 20 km/h and the rest with 60 km/h.

7. The displacement X of the particle moving in a straight line is given as with respect to time t = √(x+3). Find

8. If a body loses half of its velocity on penetrating 3cm in a wooden block then how much will it penetrate
more before coming to rest ? ( 1cm )
9. A body covers 200cm in the first 2 seconds and 220cm in the next 4 seconds. What is the velocity of the
body at the end of seventh second. ( 10cm/s )
10. A particle starts from rest and moves a distance S1 with constant acceleration in time t. If this particle
travels distance S2 and next time t then show that S2 = 3S1.
11. A balloon rising vertically up with uniform velocity 15 m/s releases a ball at a height of 100m. Calculate
the time taken by the ball to hit the ground. Take g= 10m/s². ( 6.2s)
12. A stone is dropped from the top of a tower of height 100 meter. The stone penetrates in the sand on the
ground through a distance of 2m. Calculate the retardation of the stone. ( –490m/s² )
13. If the displacement of a particle X is related to time t as t = 3 + √x. Find the displacement of the particle
when its velocity is zero. (0)
14. A ball is thrown vertically upward. It has a speed of 10 m/s when it has reached one half of its maximum

15. A point initially at rest moves along x-axis. Its acceleration varies with time as a = (6t + 5) m/s². If it starts
from origin, the distance covered in 2s is _______. ( 18m )
16. If displacement x = t³ – 6t² + 3t + 4. Calculate velocity when acceleration is zero. ( –9m/s )
17. A car moving with the speed of 20 km/h is stopped by applying breaks after travelling 5m. If the same
car is moving with 40km/h then the stopping distance is _________. ( 20m )
18. The equation √x = t + 9 give the relation between displacement and time. Show that acceleration of the
particle is constant.
19. Ye car is moving with 72 km/h and reduced to 36km/h after covering 200m. Calculate acceleration in

20. A stone is released from rest and falls freely under gravity. Find
(a) speed of stone after 2 second. ( 19.6 m/s)
