Vision One for Service Providers & SMB Experience FAQ
Overview
What is this about?

This effort is part of our platform strategy, which is a collaborative effort within Trend to unify all current
products into the Vision One platform. This effort will allow Worry-Free customers to access their
management via Vision One and also give service providers (MSP, MSSP, DFIR partners, etc.) that want to
manage multiple customers and tenants to do so via Vision One. It will allow Worry-Free customers to take
advantage and get access to new functionality in Vision One that will lead to better visibility and control,
improved cyber resilience and reduced complexity and cost.

Trend Vision One™ for Service Providers (xSP): allows partners and services organizations to increase
operational efficiencies by leveraging a multi-tenant AI-powered single security platform that provides risk
visibility, attack surface & exposure management, endpoint security, XDR, cloud security, identity security,
data security, email security, and network security. The platform ensures optimal productivity for teams with
insights that are actionable across all managed customers.

Vision One SMB Experience: This is not a product that customers purchase, it is a special experience for SMB
customers and partners that utilize Worry-Free, Remote Manager and License Management Portal (LMP). It
will also allow them to take advantage of all the new Attack Surface Risk Management (ASRM) functionality in
Vision One.

How does this change the customer experience?

We want customers to see that we are providing additional value with a complete security platform, but to
still feel like they are using a solution they are familiar with and the identical workflows and capabilities as
they were familiar with in Worry-Free, Remote Manager and LMP. Customers will be able to manage their
endpoint deployment without feeling like they’re navigating through multiple consoles. This will also enable
them to implement Attack Surface Risk Management (ASRM) risk-reducing recommendations from within the
same console.

What is the update process?

Please note that no agent migration is required and all workflows that customers and service providers are
used to remain the same. They continue to use the Worry-Free (WF), License Management Portal (LMP) and
Remote Manager (RM) the same as they do today.

Does this affect the purchasing process?

No impact to the purchasing process, customers and service providers continue to purchase Worry-Free as
they do today through the same purchasing channels. For customers that want to leverage the new ASRM
functionality, they have the opportunity to test that until the GA date in October 2024 and then they will be
required to purchase. ASRM pricing & packaging are on the current price list in all regions, ASRM will not be
available for on-line purchase.

For more information on licensing and packaging, please refer to the training materials.

Vision One for Service Providers & SMB Experience FAQ
When will this be available?

• Private preview for select partners on June 24, 2024

• Public preview for select partners on August 12, 2024
• General Availability (GA) is scheduled for October 2024

What other content is available about V1xSP?

• Business Overview PPT

• Technical Overview PPT
• ASRM Demo Video
• ASRM Overview Video

Features & Functionality

What functionality will be available at different phases of the project?

Private Preview (June 24) – ASRM available for end-customers via SMB experience

Public Preview (August) – Vision One for Service Providers will be available for service providers.

GA (October):

• Worry-Free management
• Remote Manager (TMRM)
• License Management Portal (LMP)

As Worry-Free supports Trend Micro Email Security, Cloud App Security and Trend Micro Mobile Security
today? How will that work?

Customers and service providers are still accessing Worry-Free console or Remote Manager to do the
management, so all integrations / access to products like Trend Micro Email Security, Cloud App Security and
Trend Micro Mobile Security will be managed the same as before. There are no changes to the workflows for
this.

What about 3rd-party integrations?

3rd party integrations between Remote Manager and License Management Portal stay the same (e.g.
ConnectWise, Kaseya, etc.)

3rd party integrations for ASRM are supported via the Trend Vision One enterprise platform that V1xSP service
partners can leverage. The only 3rd-party integrations not supported (at the moment) are Active Directory on-
premises, Nessus Pro and Tenable Security Center solutions as those require deployment of the Vision One
service gateway which is not supported now. More integrations will be included over time.

Will anything not be available in Worry-Free, RM or LMP?

Worry-Free has exactly the same functionality and is managed from the WF console, so there are no changes
to functionality or workflows for managing the product.

Will we support multi-tenancy for service providers?

Yes, the Vision One for Service Providers will support the roll-up of visibility to multiple tenants for ASRM. You
can still continue to use Remote Manager to continue to manage multiple tenants for Worry-Free endpoint,
email & XDR security.

What Vision One ASRM functionality will be available in the SMB Experience at different phases of this
project?

Will MSPs be able to give their end customers access to V1xSP in co-managed scenarios at the
customer level?

If the needs arise, i.e., customers want to access the partner’s console for their products, then the partners
just need to create user accounts in V1xSP.

Is this a cloud-based console? Is V1xSP SaaS only?

Yes, Vision One for xSP is a SaaS only solution.

Vision One for Service Providers & SMB Experience FAQ
Will we have support for On-premises customers with air-gapped environments or data sovereignty
concerns?

No, V1xSP requires an Internet connection to our cloud/SaaS back-end services.

However, Vision One for Sovereign and Private Cloud is our solution for customers with data sovereignty or
air-gapped requirements. Service providers can purchase and use this solution but it does not provide the
same functionality as Vision One for Service Providers with the multi-tenancy, RM, LMP, etc.

Will additional Vision One modules such as email security, network security, cloud security be included? If
no, is there are rough timeline?

Yes, these modules are in the product roadmap but subject to prioritization according to partner and
customer requirements. If you have feedback about these use cases and prioritization, please contact the
product manager - [email protected].

Will the unmanaged endpoints require an ASRM license?

Yes, both managed and unmanaged endpoints require an ASRM license.

Does ASRM require another agent to be installed?

No, the Worry-Free agent is being enhanced to support the ASRM functionality.

How long does it take for a device to be visible in the ASRM console?

Devices are generally visible in ASRM within a few minutes. If it takes more than an hour (we have some
reports that they can take up to 24 hours), then this is a bug and should be reported to our support team.

Why does it take until the next day before the locally installed apps are visible in ASRM?

Local app inventory implementation is scheduled to be aggregated at UTC 0:00. We are looking to aggregate
more quickly starting in September 2024

What is the overall business value of ASRM?

VISIBILITY | Transform from limited visibility to broad visibility into security and risk exposure, across all assets
with Attack Surface Risk Management — Gain control over your attack surface

CLARITY | Be better protected against attacks and more prepared to take mitigation actions fast by leveraging
continuous cyber risk assessments and consolidated risk insights — for proactive defense

CYBER RESILIENCE | Make informed risk-based decisions to build trust, and enable change — improve security
posture

Vision One for Service Providers & SMB Experience FAQ
User Experience, Public Preview and Simple Update Process
Why is it an easy update for customers?

1. Current business operations remain unchanged

There are no price hikes or extra licensing fees—all that is required is a swift and straightforward account
setup on the Vision One platform.
2. Same great technology and protection
No uninstall, install, or manual updates required for your protected devices.
3. You still have access to Worry-Free products
During your transition to the Vision One platform, you'll retain access to the Worry-Free console,
maintaining familiar control over your licensing, endpoints and email.

Why is it an easy update for partners?

1. Current business operations remain unchanged

There are no price hikes or extra licensing fees—all that is required is a swift and straightforward account
setup on the Vision One platform.
2. Same great technology and protection – no rip & replace
No uninstall, install, or manual updates required for your protected devices.
3. Maximize current investment and provide more security value
You can offer enhanced security and protection with the addition of Vision One ASRM and continue to
provide Worry-Free solutions to both existing and prospective customers.

Where will customers configure and manage policies? In the Worry-Free console, or from Vision One?

Service providers will use the Trend Vision One for xSP to access the Remote Manager (TMRM) app to manage
their endpoint security, XDR and email security. The service providers will be able to access the customer’s
Vision One for the ASRM capabilities.

Can our private preview partners enable ASRM for additional Worry-Free customers during the public
w w n’ f n l w?

es. They can do that without Trend’s involvement. They can give trial licenses to as many of their customers
as needed. There are no restrictions on the number. Please note that clients with MAC EDR enabled will not
e eligi le, and we will display “ineligi le for a trial license.” Furthermore, once the client is updating to V1
B perience, they can’t ena le their endpoints to have . These capa ilities will e availa le after
GA. Lastly, the trial license for these new customers will be 60 days instead of 90 days as with the private
preview customers. For customers activate the trial licenses after GA, the license will last only 30 days.

Can a partner login to LMP or RM directly after they have updated to the new Vision One console?

Short answer is no. Today, the partners can log into LMP (or RM) directly and perform whatever they need. In
addition, they can SSO to RM – in the top right corner, as needed. Once they have updated – by clicking on the
promotion anner, they can’t log into LMP or RM directly. They can access LMP or RM from the Vision One

Page 8 of 12| August 7, 2024

Vision One for Service Providers & SMB Experience FAQ
for Service Providers console and from their they can perform the needed functions on LMP and RM as they
would have when they connected directly.

If a partner updates RM accounts into V1xSP (during Aug. public preview), are there any impact or known
issues for V1 SMB experience customers that were updated during private preview?

ll the private preview customers under the partner will appear in the partner’s V ’s console and with the
status of “view” instead of “start free trial” and the L for trial license will display accordingly. The partner
can click on the “view,” and it will SSO to customer V1 SMB Experience console.

Will net new LMP/RM accounts be exposed to Public Preview?

No, the new LMP/RM accounts will be created following the existing process. You need to submit these
partners for them to receive the promotional banner to update to V1xSP.

If partners are using TMRM API, i.e., SMPI, should they be excluded from participating in the public
preview? Will there be any impacts as they migrate to V1xSP?

No. When the partners update their LMP/TMRM to V1xSP, they should be able to use the TMRM API as is.
There should be no impacts. We will continue to enhance these APIs in GA to take advantage of new features
and functionalities of the V1 SMB Experience. Please note that we need to make some changes to LMPI, i.e.,
the LMP API. These changes are not taken into effect until GA. Thus, we have excluded these types of partners
from our public preview.

When using the public preview for V1xSP, can the partner add net-new customers?

es, they can do that within the V y clicking on the “add customer” on the left side of the
console. Furthermore, they can add net-new customers via LMP, and it will be available to the V1xSP.

Can I exclude partners from the public preview of V1xSP?

The partners can only participate in the public preview by invitation (via the promotion banner). Your regional
leader will determine who is eligible. Don't hesitate to contact your regional leader: AMEA – David Siah, ANZ –
Brooke, Americas – Lamon, Europe – Gary, and Japan – Kumra-san.

What happens to a Worry-Free Services customer that has moved their Cloud App Security or Trend Micro
Email Security into Vision Email and Collaboration Security, will they still get the banner to move their
Worry-Free to the Vision One SMB experience?

Because the customer has already on-board to Vision One, the customer is not eligible to update to the Vision
One SMB experience and they will not get the banner.

What happens if a service provider / customer is using Apex One, Deep Security or Cloud One
Endpoint/Workload Security or even the new Vision One Endpoint Security and want to now use V1xSP?

Page 9 of 12| August 7, 2024

Vision One for Service Providers & SMB Experience FAQ
Currently, V1xSP does not support these modules. They are in the product roadmap but subject to
prioriti ation according to partner’s and customer’s re uirements. If you have feed ack a out these use cases
and prioritization, please contact [email protected].

What happens if a service provider / customer is already using Worry-Free and as a result of using ASRM
and V1xSP they want to use only Vision One, can they update/migrate to using Vision One Endpoint
Security, Vision One Email and Collaboration Security, etc?

For self-managed customers, they can migrate to Vision One Endpoint Security, Vision One Email and
Collaboration security, etc. However, this is a migration and not an update. In other words, it is a rip and
replace and they will have to purchase those licenses.

For service providers, they need to use V1xSP to manage ASRM and RM/LMP apps within the V1xSP to
manage WF, XDR, EMS and CAS as they would have done today. If the end customers want to migrate to
Vision One Endpoint Security, Vision One Email and Collaboration, then service providers will not be able to
manage the mentioned products.

Packaging, Licensing and Pricing

How will the licensing and pricing work?

The pricing for all Worry-Free packages will remain exactly the same. The ASRM pricing is the same pricing &
SKUs that are currently on the price list in each region for our Vision One customers. There are 2 ASRM
packages:

1. ASRM (for IT managed desktops and servers): It is licensed based on the number of Windows, Linux
& MacOS endpoints that we can assess for risk (so license is required for both managed (agent) and
unmanaged endpoint (no agent) The customer will get access to attack surface discovery, operations
dashboard for on-prem and internet-facing assets, and includes risk insight and prioritization for
workloads, containers, storage, identities and apps.
2. ASRM for Cloud: It is licensed based on the number of cloud accounts (AWS, Azure & GCP accounts) .
The customer will get access Attack Surface Discovery and Operations Dashboard for cloud account
and internet facing assets. This includes cloud security posture management, risk insight and
prioritization for workloads, containers, storage, identities and apps.

Does the ASRM seat count need to match their Worry-Free purchase?

ASRM (for IT managed desktops & servers) must be equal to or greater than the Worry-Free “endpoint” seat
count, it is licensed based on the number of Windows, Linux & MacOS endpoints that we can assess for risk
(both managed and unmanaged endpoints). ASRM for Cloud is licensed based on the number of cloud
accounts (AWS, Azure & GCP) so it is different.

Can a Worry-Free customer update to Vision One without purchasing ASRM?

Page 10 of 12| August 7, 2024

Vision One for Service Providers & SMB Experience FAQ
No, it doesn’t make sense for them to update to Vision One without also purchasing ASRM as there is no real
advantage at this point in time.

Will customers be able to order solutions via marketplaces?

Customers and service providers are able to purchase Trend Vision One credits via AWS and Azure
Marketplaces. Note, in the context of V1xSP credits purchased can only be allocated to ASRM but in the future
we want to enable the purchase of all V1xSP components and SMB capabilities via Vision One credits. For
specific AWS or Azure marketplace questions please reach out to Elizabeth Harper.

Service providers purchasing Worry-Free via Pax8 or Sherweb marketplaces will continue to be able to do this
the same as they do today.

Do service providers or customers need to pay anything to move to V1xSP?

Customers will be able to update free of charge excluding any costs associated with adding additional seats or
new products.

System Requirements & Other Information

What are the dependencies, requirements, limitations?

Requirements: The customers need to install WF agents on their end points.

Limitation: urrently, we don’t support on-premises, Nessus Pro and Tenable Security Center because the
solution will require the deployment of the Vision One service gateway which is not supported currently.

When will KB articles with system requirements and other details be available?

The information will be available before we GA product in October.
