30. Primary venting & secondary venting (Setting pressure in Non- inert, Inerted, Vapor
return line).
- Primary venting : PV valves (200 kpa/ - 3.5 kpa)
- Secondary : pressure sensors in each tank and cargo monitoring sys and alarm sys
in ccr (non-inert :220 kpa/-3.8kpa; inert : 220 kpa/1kpa; vapor return line :
pressure 90% pv v/v, vacuum :inert 1.0 kpa, non-inert :-3.8 kpa)
31. Hydraulic jockey pump purposes.
- Maintain possitive pressure in hydraulic sys in order to prevent hydraulic oil from
contaminated by cargo
- Prevent cargo pump from ingress of cargo
- Recirculate hyd. Oil so that seperate air from oil
32. Purging cofferdam of Framo pump instructions.
- Shortly before loading
- 1-2 day after loading : if leakage found, purge this pump every day
- Shortly b4 disch
- Shortly after disch
- For long voyage, if no leakage found after loading, purge at least every fortnight
(14 days)
- Check cofferdam open or blocked
- Record quantity of leakage (cargo, Hydraulic oil, water condensate)
- Evaluate the result : - for cargo 0,5ltr/day is normal, 2 ltr /day pump should be
purge a couple of times daily and inspected for reason of leakage./// for hydraulic
oil: 0,25ltr/day is normal, higher is abnormal, pump should be inspected for
reason of leakage.
33. Safety parameters on ECDIS ( how to set on ECDIS).
- Shallow contour= ship draft
- Safety contour = draft + ukc + squat - Ht
- Safety depth = draft + ukc + squat - Ht
- Deep contour = 2* draft
- Look ahead > 3 nm
34. Which notices when passing the safety contour.
- Keep caution, keep vsl well clear of safety depth
- Check depth on echo sounder
- Monitor vessel position continuosly
35. Scamin, Catzoc .
- Scamin (scale minimm) : filter function of ecdis, will disappear some information
which is considered as not important while user zoom in order to reduce the
clutters on display
