1.0 INTRODUCTION
The objective of this research assignment is to develop the project management report for the C-Direct Insurance Company to implement the new insurance project plan. The new insurance system is to develop for the house hold purpose in the D-Direct insurance company. In this project management report the researcher focus on how to capture the competitors market, improvising of the technology, infrastructure and training the staff to the competitive environment. In this research report, the researcher consider few factors such as 1. Initiate 2. Plan 3. Execute the plan 4. Evaluate the executed plan
1.1 Overview of the Existing System The currently the C-Direct insurance company focusing on the car insurance and they have to collect the insurer data over the phone (17 details has to be asked) and entered in the system. The insurer/ customers calls the customer care of the CD call centre over the toll free number and submit their personal date and once the details taken, the insurance covers for the person within 12 minutes. The insurance policy money paid by the credit card and the conformation mail received by the insurer and contract will be send after 23 days from the conformation. There are 105 staffs are working for the company in 3 shifts and the operation time was 08.00 to 20.00. The present is system of the C-Direct insurance company was reactive rather than proactive in the scheduling and quality management of the customer service. The working associates are not knowledgeable and not given proper training about how to handle different types of the customers. The interface designed by the company was not supporting for the marketing to the customers. In the beginning there were not much insurance company, nowadays there are much competition, so the operational manager must look in various parameters to provide the best customer service. 1.2 Scope of the proposed System The New proposed system by the C-Direct Insurance Company was to cover the insurance for the House hold items. Mr. Small the Operational Manager must change the business strategy to the corporate level of comparing with the competitors to have the competitive advantage. In the new system the operational manager has to focus on the customers service with good interface and effective training for the staffs to handle various types of customers to sustain the operations, to have the competitive advantage among their competitors. Mr. Small must consider the following factors in the new systems policy 1. Good Interface design (easy to understand the details by viewing itself) for the new insurance 2. Delivery of the insurance by having good online tracking system

3. Tracking of the operations into the system 4. To monitor the staff performance and analyze the performance report every month. 5. Any policy change, renew of the due payment and introduction of new policy offer must send to the customer by auto mail system. For the above proposed system, the researcher has to discuss with the C-direct insurance operational Manager Mr. Small to make the detailed project plan of the research project, the project plan includes the Scope of the project, Schedule for the each task and deadlines to complete, Budget estimation form the initial phase to the implementation phase, communication phase (task between the customer and staff, the interface used here are systems to enter the information of the customers details and policy details) and at last the risk mitigation plan for the proposed system. The researcher said that, after implementing the above system, the overall operation cost will be reduced, less paper work, minimize the errors, can manage the time more effective and less man power is required. 1.3 Project Goals and Objective of the Project The researcher set the benchmark to achieve an objective for C-Direct Insurance Company for their Operation of the new system. The researcher planned the proper plan, so that there wont be any delay in the delivery. The researcher team planned to do prototype for the proposed project (blueprint/ Screen shot of the proposed project) and conformed to the Mr. Small who is the control of the Operations of the C-Direct Insurance .The New proposed system must be user-friendly and they must get the information once they login into their account. So that the risk of the policy details can be reduced on both side (Management & Customer).
2.0 SCOPE OF C-DIRECT INSURANCE
In the Scope definition, the researcher discussed about the entire project management scope and the necessary action to taken for the required resource for the entire project and to reach the benchmark of the vision and mission of the C-Direct Insurance. 2.1 Scope Definition The above project is used to manage the new proposed Home insurance coverage by the C-Direct Insurance, includes the following functionalities 1. New Insurance Interface application of the home insurance coverage details

2. Customer details consists of policy details, insurance amount covered, premium details and customer personal details and address for communication.
3. Tracking System The policy details and the customer details must be tracked by having the user name and password. It must be unique. So that the customer can login and view the account details. 4. Progress and Performance Monitoring System Monitors the performance tacking of the Staff call performance and the customer policy details, due date tracking and premium notice. 5. Auto Mail Notification must sent to the customer regarding the insurance due dare, renewal of policy, new offers of the policy, dividend details and verification of personal details for the conformation. 2.2 Customers Expectation and Identity The C-Direct Insurance, Mr. Small the operational Manager must find good solution and decision making software company for developing the customers. Mr. Small the Operational Manager provides the fund for developing the project and also the taken some fund from the customer fund for the development. The Mr. Small must appoint perfect Project Manager for the development of the project, so that the outcome of the project will reach the Vision and Mission of the C-Direct Insurance proposed system and it meets the customers requirement by having the proper focus group and they must update the status of the project details every week.

2.3 C-Direct Insurance Organization Hierarchy 2.3.1 Existing System The Present system is traditional structure; there is no formal way of collecting the data for the automobile insurance policy. The Customer call the C-Direct call centre, first the Operators will handle the queries and collect the datas, information of the vehicle details, customers details and premium details, if the issue / closure was not closed, then the call is routed to the Operational manager Mr. Small for the further information of the policy closure. After the project closure, the verification and validation of data given by the customers for activating the policy and make the policy active once verification and validation has been done.

2.4 Proposed Project Structure of the C-Direct Insurance 1. Mr. Small and the project manager appointed by the Operational Manager was the sole responsible for the new proposed House hold insurance with the car insurance has to be completed the project on time, so that it can reach the target market on time. The project manager must have the experience in the insurance domain and also with Project management experience is necessary for developing this project. 2. The project must be developed by module by module, so that the C-Direct insurance can add new insurance policy without any difficulties and it wont affect other functionalities. Now the C-Direct Insurance has the two functionalities only, the very first are Automobile Insurance and the second one was the proposed system the House hold insurance. In future they might include some other policy according the customers requirement. So the project must be developed in Object Oriented approach and it has been scheduled March to May 2011. 3. The project Manager must communicate with the management of the C-direct insurance and the developing team for the final objective of the project delivery. The intensive testing must be taken care, so there wont be any error occurs during the operation of the software. The software developed must suit to the current and dynamic environment, so that it can be modified at any point of time according to the requirement. 4. The project manager must allocate the modules/ functionalities to each team lead and the team lead will discuss with the team members as per the schedule plan, the project has to deliver on time. Before start developing the project, first the interface (prototype/ blueprint) has to developed and conformed with the operational management of the C-Direct Insurance. The modules such as User login to check their policy details with the User name and password, House hold insurance details, Policy holder details and performance report of the staff. 5. After the Interface has designed, the project manager must get the client sign off from the C-Direct management and then proceed the coding phase for the date of 10th March 2011. After completing each module, unit testing has to be taken by the non-developer to identify the bugs in the developed functionalities and then integration testing has to done from 25th march 2011. 6. The team lead must take care of the system and the acceptance testing form the client side implementation with the help of his teams. So the developed new proposed house hold insurance with modified functionalities of C-Direct Insurance must be reflected. Once the project was satisfied by the Client and the client will give

the acceptance. The developed must give the maintenance for the software which has been developed. Once the project delivered to the C-Direct Insurance, the maintenance period starts. 3.0 Proposed System Time Management Plan
The Scheduling is the important factor for developing a project. It values both the client side and the developer side. If the time exceeds the schedule, the developer company has been using the more resources and money for that project and for the management company, they cant start their process on time, so their profit will be minimized and it wont reach the people on time. The project manager must consider the following factors while scheduling the task of the project 1. The task must be prioritized 2. Each task must be well planned 3. Create check list 4. Finalize the goal 5. Schedule the final date of the delivery 3.1 Schedule of the Proposed Project The C-Direct Insurance new project management report has started on March 2011 and it expected to ends on the May 2011.

4.0 Management Plan for the Quality Control The Quality is the degree of excellence, depends on the domain the quality varies and the following marks given for the quality CMMI Level 1 to Level 5, ISO 9000 : 2000 & ISO 9000 : 2008 this speaks about the quality standard and it was given by the universal quality standard. The Quality management and the Quality control give more quality of the project, give the customers satisfaction and fulfill the requirement of the project to the current trend of the C-Direct Insurance as follows a. House hold Insurance, Customers details, Premium details and staff Performance details b. Functionality of the system and user friendliness c. Reliability and robustness of the system in the peak access time. 5.0 Risk Management and the Plan for the Contingency The Risk is the uncertainty error, which happened during the operation of the program. The risk might favors/ unfavours the work; we cant predict the risk in the project. The risk is considered as a bug in the software terms and the buy will be fixed by the developers team as soon as possible in the future. The Alternate solution must be identified to delay in the work process (Plan B). The Risk management and Contingency plan is the tool in the management and identifies the problems faced by the system in future, by have review, walkthrough and the intensive testing with the automation tools brings out the Risk Identification , assessment of the risk and finally the planning for the contingency. Risk Identification: The first parameter is identification of the risk, this helps to bring out the most prominent and by the past experience of the project manager in the Insurance domain. The factors in the identification are the economic downturn, the project cost overrun, delay in the delivery of the project, no having enough resource and Man power to develop the project. a. Lack of team cooperation, No proper guidelines of the team member, lacking of the requirements by the Client and keep on changing the requirement will affect the delivery and quality of the project. b. The developer has the lack of IT Software Skills will affect the entire project. Risk Assessment: The assessment of the risk measures the harm or how much it affects the people. project will leads to the delay in the implementation, reaches the people late, more resource have to be used by the developers organization. Plan for contingency:
The must have a proper alternate solution for the issues, then only customers feel the service without any intervention. The financial position of the company must good and they must have more liquidity cash flow for the operations. The Operational team must constantly focus on the progress of the proposed system. 6.0 Recommendation Budget Estimation for the Proposed Project of the C-Direct Insurance The budget estimation is the important factor of the project management. In the beginning there will be an agreement between the client and the developer organization. But the budget exceed/ or decrease up to 30 percentage of the estimated. The initial estimation is not accurate one, it might change according to the man power and resource used. The Budget estimation which includes the costing, proper planning of the requirements, estimation of resource and man power and controlling the cost of the project, it must be completed within the deadline of the project. Reporting format of the Project cost and Authority The Operational manager and Project Manager are the accountable for the project cost estimation. Separate account has been maintained for the new project and the C-Direct Insurance. The controlling of the cost has been done by the project manager of the developer Organization and depends on the requirement change after the project start, the cost will vary according, for that the Client must fill-up the Change request form (CRF) and they developer gets client sign off with the new cost estimation of the project. They reschedule the project date. Project Estimation The C-direct allocated the total cost of the project of S$160,000; the developing company can use the maximum of this and not more than this and the 7% GST are excluded with this amount. Plans for the Communication Management The Communication management is the parameter used for the interaction between the management of the CDirect Insurance and the Project Manager of the developers organization, which show up, requirement of the clients expectation in the proposed project. In the developers side, the communication management as a interaction between the Project Manager, Team Lead and the team members for the developing of the proposed project. The Communication plan has the following basic factors 1. Project Initiation Meeting: Once the proposal got from the client side, the developers team must start collecting datas and information from the client and outside real world environment. 2. Scope Distribution: The project scope and functionalities must be explained properly to the C-Direct Insurance Operational manager by developing a screen shot and get the client sign off for developing the project further. 3. Project Status Report: The Entire time schedule for the project is 3 Months. So the project must be delivered within three months time. The Project Manager of the developed company has to send the status report every week to the client. So that they also aware of the project status. 4. Client Meeting: Every month there must a client meeting for further discussion of the project, so that if there is any deviation, they can resolve it in the beginning stage itself. 5. Review of the Project: This one type of manual testing happens between the Project manger and Client side. So that they can review their mistake and correct it before implementing the project.
