➢ Tag question
Câu hỏi đuôi là một dạng câu hỏi ngắn được đặt ở đằng sau 1 vế câu trần thuật. Câu hỏi
đuôi được dùng để hỏi, xác định thông tin từ mệnh đề trước đó xem có chính xác hay không.
• Cấu trúc:
Câu hỏi đuôi có thể ở dạng khẳng định hoặc phủ định. Thông thường
- Nếu phần mệnh đề là khẳng định thì phần đuôi là phủ định.
- Nếu mệnh đề là phủ định thì phần đuôi là khẳng định.
Verb tense (+) sentence ➔ (-) tag (-) sentence ➔ (+) tag
Present simple (to be) He is Vietnamese, isn’t he? He isn’t Vietnamese, is he?
Present simple (verb) You study Math, don’t you? You don’t study Math, do you?
Past simple She was at home, wasn’t she? She wasn’t at home, was she?
Past continuous They were watching TV, They weren’t watching TV,
weren’t they? were they?
Present perfect He has written a book, hasn’t He hasn’t written a book, has
