Introduction

Organizational behavior relates to the behaviors and mindsets exhibited by employees along with

group of individuals working towards a common goal. It covers multiple areas, including,

teamwork, motivation, guidance, collaboration and group dynamics. It is essential to understand

and evaluate the organizational behavior of any organization to measure its success, as it

increases employee satisfaction, productivity, and amplifies the organization's overall

performance. This report aims to capture valuable insights into the different aspects of

organizational behavior by interviewing a professional working for one of the world's largest

technology organizations. By exploring the employee’s experience and perspective, we aim to

glean the key factors contributing to productive and structured organizational behavior. The

questions during the interview were carefully framed to elicit specific anecdotes and insights,

forming the basis for our examination of the organizational theories i.e., motivation and team

theories.

Information of Interviewee

Nihar Rewandkar is a highly skilled professional serving as a Business System Analyst at EV

gateways in EvGatewayInc, a prominent US-based company operating in Canada. With an

extensive background in the field of business systems analysis, Nihar brings a wealth of

knowledge and expertise to his role. His primary focus lies in leveraging technological solutions

to enhance operational efficiency and drive business growth. As a Business System Analyst,

Nihar plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business objectives and technology

implementation, ensuring that the organization's systems and processes align seamlessly with its

strategic goals. With his keen analytical mindset and strong problem-solving abilities, Nihar is
instrumental in identifying areas for improvement, streamlining workflows, and maximizing

productivity within EvGatewayInc. Through his dedication and commitment to excellence, Nihar

consistently contributes to the company's success and helps pave the way for continued

innovation in the EV gateway industry.

Motivation Theories

Motivation plays an important role in the field of Organizational Behavior as it encompasses the

factors that drive individual behavior. Gaining a comprehensive understanding of motivation

theories is crucial for managers and leaders who aim to inspire and improve employee productivity

and job satisfaction. During the interview, valuable insights were obtained regarding the

interviewee's organization and its approach to motivation. The company utilizes a combination of

intrinsic and extrinsic motivation theories to foster the engagement of the employee and their drive.

For example, the interviewee highlighted the organization's practice of offering competitive

salaries and comprehensive benefits packages, which serve as external motivators to make

employees feel motivated to produce at their highest level. Additionally, the company strongly

emphasizes employee growth and development, providing ample opportunities for training and

skill-building. This inherent motivator allows employees of the organization to have a sense of

fulfillment and achievement in their work.

The interviewee also emphasized the importance of social support within the organization. They

mentioned the presence of exceptional managers and directors who provide additional support to

maintain motivation and engagement, particularly during challenging projects. This underscores

the significant role of senior management in shaping an employee's career path. Furthermore, the

employee expressed that being the clients’ main point of contact is a strong motivator, enabling
the interviewee to perform at their best. This exemplifies the value of providing employees with

opportunities to excel during high-pressure situations and showcase their leadership and

managerial skills.

Moreover, the employee shared their personal strategies for maintaining motivation and excelling

in their professional career. They expressed a preference for collaborative work environments,

which aligns with the organization's emphasis on teamwork and collaboration. This approach is

consistent with the principles of social exchange theory, fostering increased motivation and a sense

of connection with both the work and colleagues. Additionally, the interviewee stressed the

importance of regular feedback and constructive criticism, as it allows them to improve their

performance.

In summary, the interviewee's organization implements various motivation strategies,

Group and Team Theories

The study of Organizational Behavior places significant importance on theories related to groups

and teams, aiming to understand how collective efforts function within an organizational context.

These theories enable leaders and managers to create an environment that fosters productive

collaboration, effective communication, and cohesive teamwork, resulting in improved

organizational performance. Insights gained from the interview with a valued employee at an

organization indicate a strong emphasis on promoting effective cross-collaboration and synergy

within various teams within the organization. The company has implemented a structural
framework that promotes collaboration, allowing teams to collaborate and collaborate on a range

of projects. Communication plays a crucial role, evident through timely team meetings and check-

ins to enable alignment among members. The interviewee highlighted individual contributions and

shared motivation as key factors in project success, aligning with the concept of group cohesion.

The organization also focuses on fostering a sense of shared identity among team members, as per

social identity theory. Team-building activities, workshops, and outings further strengthen

relationships and improve communication. The interviewee emphasized the significance of

effective communication and building personal relationships in conflict resolution. Overall, the

organization's emphasis on cross-collaboration and teamwork is in line with various group and

team theories, contributing to the achievement of the company’s goals.

Conclusion

In summary, the study of Organizational Behavior encompasses the intricate exploration of

individual and group behaviors within an organizational context. The application of motivation

theories enables organizations to gain insights into the determinants of employee behavior,

facilitating the establishment of an environment that fosters employee engagement, job

satisfaction, and enhanced performance. collaboration, with specific attention given to

communication, team building, and fostering a shared sense of identity among team Moreover, the

interview findings highlighted the organization's significant focus on promoting efficient

teamwork and valuing its members. This aligns with the motivational theories and the group and

team theories developed in Organizational Behavior and has been instrumental in helping

consulting firms achieve their organizational goals.
