Let’s Study and Analyze

Bookmark is a saved shortcut that directs your browser to a specific

webpage. It stores the title as well as the Uniform Resource Locator (URL). All
major web browsers allow you to create bookmarks, though each browser
provides different way in managing them.

The following are their differences:

Differences Chrome and Firefox Safari and Internet

Explorer
Place of display of Displays in an open Displays in the sidebars
bookmark window of the browser window.

Term used Bookmarks Favorites

These are the steps on how to bookmark websites.

1. Open the page you want to bookmark. You can start choosing the page
you want to bookmark by accessing the address bar.

4
2. Click the star button on the right side of the address/search bar (or you
can press Ctrl + window). The star will turn blue and will be added to your
bookmarks.

3. Click the star button to open the bookmarks details. There are few
different changes you can make to the bookmark from this pop-out window.

Name your bookmark. By default, your new bookmark will have the
same name as the title of the page. Click the current name to enter a new
name.

It allows you to browse through your bookmark folders in the

bookmark pop-out window. By default, the bookmark is added to the “other
bookmarks” folder.

5
Click the “Add Folder” button at the bottom of the bookmark pop-out
window. Navigate to the folder you want to add by using the > and < buttons.

Create a new folder in your current location by typing in a folder name

and clicking “Create”.

4. Show or hide the Bookmarks Bar. In chrome, the bookmarks bar is

located directly underneath the address bar. It will display all of your
bookmark. You can toggle the bookmarks bar by pressing ctrl + window or
click the chrome menu button selecting bookmarks and then click “show
bookmarks bar”

6
5. Manage your bookmarks. If you want to browse, organize, and manage all
your bookmarks, you can open bookmark manager. Click the chrome menu
button, select bookmarks, and then click bookmark manager. This will open
bookmark manager in new tab.

Saving bookmark allows you to easily access your favorite locations on

the web. It is helpful to bookmark frequently visited websites and useful
references since you don’t have to remember the URLs. In addition, you can
just click the bookmarks instead of typing in the full addresses. Always take
note that bookmark only stores the location of a webpage and not the content
of the webpage itself because information or the content from your previous
view may change over time.
