1 Section 1 OpenStack Neat Configuration

References: Beloglazov, A. and Buyya, R. (2015). OpenStack Neat: A framework for dynamic and
energy-efficient consolidation of virtual machines in OpenStack clouds. Concurrency and
Computation: Practice and Experience, 27(5), 1310–1333.

This section covers the installation and configuration of OpenStack Neat, a framework designed for
dynamic and energy-efficient consolidation of virtual machines within OpenStack environments.

Installation

1. Download the OpenStack Neat package:

o Access the official repository and download the latest version of OpenStack Neat.

2. Install dependencies:
o Use the package manager to install necessary dependencies:

sudo apt-get install python-pip python-dev

3. Install OpenStack Neat:
 Run the following command to install OpenStack Neat:
sudo pip install openstack-neat

Configuration

1. Edit the configuration file:

o Locate the configuration file at /etc/neat/neat.conf.
o Modify the configuration parameters according to your needs for VM consolidation and
energy efficiency.

2. Restart the Neat service:

 Make the adjustments by rebooting the Neat service:

sudo systemctl restart neat

Verification

1. Service status needs to check:

o Make sure Neat is functioning properly:
sudo systemctl status neat
Check the settings:
 Check to make sure the settings are correctly configured and the service is performing as
intended.
2 Section 2: Maximum Revenue-Oriented Resource
Allocation
References: Feng, G. and Buyya, R. (2016). Maximum revenue-oriented resource allocation in
cloud. IJGUC, 7(1), 12–21.

Technical steps are to consider different area of cloud computing in the machine learning system in
this section.

Algorithm Implementation

1. “Incorporate the algorithm:”

 Integrate the revenue-oriented resource allocation algorithm into your cloud management system.
 Implement the algorithm using your selected programming language, such as Python.

Parameter Setting

1. Establish criteria:

 Establish standards in the cloud platform's setup documents, such as pricing rules, resource
constraints, and demand predictions.

Testing

1. Simulate scenarios:
o Run different situations to evaluate how well the resource distribution system works.
o Track key performance indicators to make sure that the goals for maximizing income are
achieved.

3 Section 3 Big Data Computing in the Cloud

References: Kune, R., Konugurthi, P., Agarwal, A., Rao, C. R., and Buyya, R. (2016). The anatomy
of big data computing. Software: Practice and Experience, 46(1), 79–105.

This section's primary focus is on building a cloud architecture that effectively handles massive data
processing operations.
Infrastructure Setup

1. Choose a cloud service provider:

 Pick the effective data server services that provides an effective technical services in cloud
computing (such as AWS or Azure).

2. Set up virtual machines:

o Ensure that virtual machines are set up with sufficient RAM and storage to handle processing
massive amounts of data.

Software Installation

1. Install big data frameworks:

o Set up and alter the data analytics tools, Hadoop and Spark, on your virtual PCs.

Data Management

1. Implement data storage solutions:

o Ensure that the system is highly dependable, scalable, and employs appropriate data storage
methods.
Establish data collection methods to handle the big data system's continuous inflow of
information.
