Hub Area Hackers

Character Record Sheet Version: 5/30/2019

Using this Character Sheet:


All areas where you can/should enter your character data is highlighted in yellow on the tabs that start with the word "Sheet" (short for Character Record
Sheet). All the other tabs contain the lookups used by these Sheet tabs, so you don't have to worry - There are NO hidden cells or macros anywhere in
this Character Record Sheet. As you fill out values you will see the non-yellow cells automatically filled out with corresponding data that you would
normally have to lookup and keep in sync - how handy is that?

Please note that the sheet is setup to print black&white only. This will save you a lot of yellow colored ink and look nicer on the final printout. During
play you can mark up your printout - taking hits on armor boxes, etc. After play modify your sheet to reflect any new items you gained, level-ups, and so
on. If you want to print in color, use the "File/Print Preview/Setup/Sheet" menu option and uncheck the "Black & White" option box.
Sheet Description
ReadMe Instructions for using this Character Record Sheet
Sheet-Main All characters need to fill this one out (3-pages)
Sheet-MU Only arcane spellcasters need to worry about this one. You'll need to copy the SPELL BOOK and SPELLS
section for each Spellbook that your character owns. Since spellbooks can contain a maximum of 36 cantrips,
that is how the block is sized - you should never have to add rows to the SPELLS section - you can delete rows
to save printout space for spellbooks of higher levels where the maximum spells is less or the caster has filled
the book.

Sheet-Cleric This sheet has all the clerical spells from the player's books entered (as well as their reversed forms. If you
have other spells (say from KODT) you'll have to add them to the list.
Sheet-Druid Similar to the Clerical list, it shows all spells plus their reversed forms.
Sheet-Misc Right now this sheet only has the Last will and Testament. I'm going to be expanding it to add Henchmen,
Mounts, stored loot & gear, and other sundry items.

Armor Typical Armor types are here with their corresponding stats used for lookups in the Main sheet (e.g. the rest of
the sheets listed never have to be printed, they are for reference only). Feel free to add additional armor types
- the named ranges go all the way to row "999", so you can add a lot without worrying about changing the
named ranges.

Shield This tab has a list of shields. Like the Armor tab, you can add your own here.

Weapons A selection of weapons from Goods & Gear have been typed in. Add your own here, just like for the Armor tab.

Ranged Ranged weapons and their stats. Similar to the Armor,Shield, and Weapons tab, you shouldn't have to worry
about breaking the named ranges.

StatLookup Contains info used to fill in the character sheet that are associated with the seven standard attributes. Each
Stat is defined as a named range, so if you mess with this page make sure the named ranges are ok.

Lookups Lookups for miscellaneous items, like Honor, Armor, Shields, etc. Each table normally has two named ranges
defined one for the lookup column and one for the rest of the table. Make sure that these don't get broken if
you edit this tab.

Drop Downs:
Many of the items have Drop-downs that present the allowable entries for that field. Simply select the one that you want. A few of the
items are checkboxes (either checked or unchecked). Unfortunately, due to a "bug" in Excel, the drop-down doesn't display in the
"WingDings" font, so it looks like "garbage" in the drop down. Instead, these are the codes in wingdings for the checked and unchecked
boxes. If it is checked and you want it unchecked, simply select the other (non-highlighted) item in the drop-down.

Modifying this Character Sheet:


The character sheet consists of a number of "tabs" (each detailed in the table below). Each sheet has "protection" turned on to prevent you from
accidently erasing formulas in the cells. You can turn off protection with the menu pick "Tools/Protection/Unprotect Sheet". Column width has been set
to "1" for every column. This allows precise control of placement of each value on the page, but it also means that the "merge cell" feature has been
used to combine cells in order to give enough space to display each value. If (ok, when) you want to modify the sheet, you'll want to move stuff around -
and that is more difficult when cells have been merged - Excel is too stupid to figure out how to do this. The best technique for moving items from one
place to another is this:

If the Target location doesn't overlap the copy-from location:


1) Make sure your target location has no merged cells
2) Highlight the cells you want to move
3) Use "CTRL-X" to "cut" the cells
4) Use "CTRL-V" to paste the cells
If the Target location overlaps the copy-from location:
1) Highlight the cells you want to move
2) Use "CTRL-X" to "cut" the cells
3) Move to a completely unused portion of the sheet (Not where you're going to move stuff to)
4) Use "CTRL-V" to paste the cells
5) Make sure your target location has no merged cells
6) Use "CTRL-X" to cut the cells again
7) Now use "CTRL-V" on your final target location.
NOTE: Excel is very smart when you do this - formula references are not lost - just "moved" when you do the "CTRL-X". If, instead you Copy (using
CTRL-C), then the formulas will still refer to the old spot.

Addendum to Southern Mass / RI chapter version

Changes:
Fixed weapon lists (added thrown spear, fixed spear stats, others), changed capitalization format
Changed movement rate calculation to "worst of either category" encumbrance (a la AD&D)

Changed it all back, set movement rates by encumbrance totals to apply current armor bulk, first. Made
sure it all works with the encumbrance math. Confirmed magic armor bulk works (-1 bulk category).
Removed duplicate / unused tables and lookups.
Fixed spelling of "encumbrance" on equipment chart
Fixed broken encumbrance math cell in first equipment entry (X157)
Reformatted entire top info blank (mostly cosmetic, only Honor Effective Level is being referenced currently), added background mater
Changed left margin from 0.34 to 0.3 (centers on house printer, Samsung 2020 series)
Added "Chance to improve skill" reference to skill sheet, changed skill ratings to % format, redid skill sheet to 1 column and reformatte
Fixed encumbrance category math on equipment sheet (wasn't detecting heavy, skipping to severe).
Factored encumbrance category into Fatigue Factor, set field to round down / truncate decimals.
