3.1. A mass of an empty RD bottle is 37 g, filled with a salt solution 84.3 g. Relative density
of salt solution is 1.55. What is the mass of the flask when filled with (a) Water (b) Oil
(RD= 0.6)
3.2 A pressure gauge in a submarine shows a total pressure of 1800 kPa. If atmospheric
pressure is 120 kPa and the density of seawater is 2.71 x 103 kg.m-3. Calculate the
depth of the submarine?
3.3 A pressure of the tyres of a motor car is 275 kPa at a temperature of 21oC. What will the
tyre pressure be if after a long journey their temperature has risen to 57 oC.
