Animal Riddles or Who Am I Game

This fun set of 16 pair cards is a perfect and quick way to practice working
on animal descriptions. Just print, cut, laminate (if you want) and the Who Am I
Game is ready.
You can use these cards in loads of different ways from a whole class
activity to a child practicing their skills individually with a quick game.
Here are a few ideas you may want to use:
Individually:
- the child reads a riddle than matches it to the correct animal;
- the child describes the animals using the cards as prompts;
Pairs:
- one child has all of the riddle cards and the other has all of the picture cards. The
child with the riddles starts to read out the description on at a time, once the other
pair works out which animal they are describing they get to keep both cards;
- place all of the cards flat down on the table. Students in turns turn over two cards,
if they are the correct pair they get to keep them, if not they must turn them back
over. The person with the most cards at the end is the winner.
Class:
- give one card to each member of the class (you may need to duplicate some
cards). They must walk around and find their matching card. This works is well to
bring a lesson to the end or to get the children out their seats and burn off a bit of
energy!
- the students try writing their own animal riddle;
- there could also be a coloring task.
