What is Natural Language Processing?

● NLP or Natural Language Processing is the branch of Machine Learning


that focuses on the interaction between computers and human
languages.
● NLP helps computers to understand , interpret and analyse human
languages. It enables computers to perform tasks like sentimental
analysis, translations and summarizing texts
● Our aim is to familiarise the mentees with the basics of ML , followed by
detailed discussions around NLP. We will use assignments and projects
to give mentees a hands-on experience with NLP.

➢ Intro to Machine Learning ➢ Basics of NLP ➢ Named Entity Recognition
○ Relevant Libraries: Numpy, ➢ Language models like BERT and Project
Pandas, Matplotlib… Word2Vec.
➢ Basic ML algorithms like Linear
Regression, Gradient Descent etc.

➢ Intro to TensorFlow ➢ Sentiment Analysis Project
➢ Intro to Deep Learning and RNNs
