1 Scope of instruction
If you suspect malfunctioning of the inputs or outputs of your CPC 100, or simply want to ensure that the
device is working properly before doing field tests, there are several tests you can perform yourself in order
to verify the basic functionality of your device. Please note that this does not replace a full function- and
accuracy check of every available measurement range, nor a calibration by an OMICRON authorized service
center.
The following tests should only be carried out by authorized and qualified personnel. The safety measures
established in the CPC 100 user manual have to be strictly followed.

Fuses
Turn off the CPC 100 and unplug the power cord. Remove the fuses located on the front panel as
marked in Figure 1 and check the continuity of the fuses with an ohmmeter.
Also make sure that the fuses are placed in their correct location. Spare fuses are in the standard
delivery of the CPC. Always use fuses with the exact same rating:
• 6.3 A T 250 V slow acting fuse 5x20 mm
• 3.15 A T 250 V slow acting fuse 5x20 mm
• 10 A FF 250 V very fast acting fuse 5x20 mm
Figure 1
Turn off the CPC 100 and unplug the power cord. Measure the ohmic resistance from both (red and
black) sockets of all outputs and inputs located on the front panel against the grounding stud. The
resistance should be around 10 MΩ, except from the red IDC Output socket, this one should be an
open loop (OL). Write down the measured resistance if it is significantly lower or even in short circuit
and provide this information to our technical support.
