Preamble Appendix
NOTE: WARNING:
The movement of all mobile parts of the bed must be inhibited when removing
or replacing parts. When handling electronic components, wear an antistatic strap (ESD) to
NOTE: prevent damaging the components.
Before replacing a part on the bed, check that the new part performs the same
functions and that the safety of the bed will not be affected. Using parts that
are not included in the list of spares renders the warranty conditions null and
void.
NOTE:
When re-installing, it is advisable to use the new parts contained in the
replacement kit.
NOTE:
2
The time shown at the start of each procedure is an estimate under optimal
operating conditions.
ENTRAPMENT WARNING:
The current flows through the connectors when the bed is switched on. Staff
may be injured if the bed is not disconnected from the power supply when
working on an electric part.
CAUTION:
3
Only the power cables referred to in the spare parts catalog should be used
with the Hill-Rom® 900 Accella™ electric bed. Using other cables may
compromise the compliance and safety of the bed.
ENTRAPMENT WARNING:
4
Disconnect the batteries before performing any work on a component in the

NOTE:
The weights must be positioned with care. Wear protective gloves made of
white material with a rubber coating when handling the rust-proof weights. In
the case of inadvertent skin contact with the weight or if there are any visual
signs of dirt, wipe down the weights with window cleaner and a nonabrasive
cloth. If the weights have been dropped or appear to be damaged, inform the
supervisor or quality manager.

1. If the system has passed all the preceding tests and correct assembly
and operation of the bed have been checked, mark an X in the
"Conformity" box. Otherwise, mark an X in the "Failed" box and
continue with the “Operational checks” page 2-5.
2. Adjust the local gravity constants if they are different to those in the
place of calibration and mark them on the bed. 6. Activate "Technician" mode (code 9004)
3. Complete the check report by marking an X in the "Seal" box, to show
that the seals have been installed. Place the sealing reference label in
the corresponding box.
