CWRU/UHCMC Radiology Student Assignments

Students are required to read chapters of the book Learning Radiology: Recognizing the Basics 3rd Edition. The
full text is available through Clinical with the CWRU library subscription (access via VPN or while on CWRU
campus network). These readings will relate to the concepts taught in the weekly resident lectures for medical
students as well as feature heavily on quizzes.

MED-U Modules:
In addition to the weekly readings, students must complete the online MED-U modules. These are designed to
add a clinical aspect to your radiology teachings so that students can learn how radiology and appropriate
imaging plays into clinical practice.
• MED-U Core Cases in Radiology
• For students on 4 week electives, you must complete 4 total cases. 2 of them are assigned. You may
choose 2 additional ones based on your interests
◦ Required: Case 1: Chest Infection, Case 5: Colon and Small Bowel
• For students on 2 week electives, you must complete 2 total cases. You must complete one of the
cases above, Chest Infection OR Colon and Small Bowel. You may choose the other case based on your
interests.
• You will be graded based on your engagement in the case and completion, not on quizzes or questions
in the module – do not simply click through the modules!
