What does ‘continuous’ mean?
‘Continuous’ means the action started earlier, is still going on as we
speak and will stop later. Some examples:

Here is an example of an action that is not continuous. “I

lock the door.”
Don’t say “I’m locking the door.”
This is not a continuous action because the actual
locking is only a click.
We learn that although this is the present continuous
tense, the action can also partly or wholly take place in
the past or in the future.
