 Capacitor discharge circuit

1. A cement resistor is used for rapid discharge, and the capacitor capacity is
discharged within 5 minutes after shutdown;

2. Discharge is performed slowly through LED low current and capacitor voltage
indication (LED on: the capacitor is energized and cannot be operated; LED
completely off: the capacitor is not energized and can be operated) is provided.
This circuit uses multiple small current channels to realize release in parallel. If
one channel is damaged, the other channels can release the capacitor capacity
normally.

Chapter 6 Maintenance Requirements

6.1 Maintenance Check

When the specified regular maintenance and service conditions are met, the minimum
expected service life of the product calculated from the manufacturing date is 10 years
(for the manufacturing date, see the label). The estimated value of the expected
service life covers the components and accessories that may need to be replaced, such
as the screen and accessories. Performing regular maintenance and safety inspection
as specified in this service manual can ensure safe use of the equipment within the
expected service life.

Replace the flat panel, caster, hand switch, and other accessories according to the
actual conditions of use. If an accessory is found to be damaged, please order a new
one and directly replace the damaged one.

6.2 Inspection and Maintenance

6.2.1. Visual Inspection

Before using VetiX P8 each time, inspect the following items:

 Whether the microcomputer, Veterinary Portable generator, and flat panel

detector bear significant damages that may affect pet safety or VetiX P8 performance;

 Whether the system cable, power plug, and power cord are damaged;

 Whether various functions of VetiX P8 are normal and in good operating

conditions;

In case of finding any signs of damages, do not use VetiX P8 for body radiography of
pets. The product cannot be put in use again until maintenance engineers of our
company or the professional maintenance personnel of the agent complete
maintenance of the product.

6.2.2. Mechanical Inspection

 Ensure that all the exposed screws have been fastened;

62/108
VetiX P8Veterinary Digital Radiography System Service Manual

 Ensure that all the modules and connectors are in the correct positions;

 Check the external cables and enclosures for signs of crack, fissure, or distortion.
Seriously damaged cables must be replaced.

6.2.3. Routine Inspection

Ask professional inspectors to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the equipment

every 6 to 12 months or after each maintenance, including function inspection and
safety performance inspection.

Conduct a regular safety test on the monitoring system on an annual basis in

accordance with the designated procedures of public institutions and testing
procedures, including leakage current measurement and insulation test, so as to ensure
leakage current insulation.

Warning

If each hospital or institution responsible for using this instrument fails to implement
a satisfactory maintenance plan, it will cause an abnormal instrument failure and may
endanger personal health.

6.3 Maintenance of the Veterinary Portable generator

You are advised to use the Veterinary Portable generator in a stable environment.
Sudden temperature or humidity changes will cause water vapor accumulation.

Note: Prevent the display screen from facing the air outlet of the air conditioner,
otherwise water vapor will be easily accumulated on the screen.

Keep the external surface of the equipment clean and free of dust; avoid scratching
and damaging the display screen.

6.4 Maintenance of the Radiography Table Panel

Although the radiography table panel is highly durable, it still needs to be used with
caution. Rough operation of the radiography table panel will damage the surface
protective coating; the radiography table panel has been painted and cannot come into
contact with hard or sharp objects.

63/108
VetiX P8Veterinary Digital Radiography System Service Manual

After the radiography table panel is used, wipe off the surface stains. The above
preventive measures help to prolong the service life of the radiography table panel.

5. In the Calibration Parameters option area (as shown in Figure 8-1-4), adjust the
kV, mA, and filament value gears; the mA gear corresponding to each kV gear
needs to be calibrated. The initial values, adjustment ranges, and gears of kV, mA,
and filament values are as follows:

 The initial value of kV is set to 40 kV, the regulation range is 40 kV to 125

kV, and the value is increased by 1 kV each time;

 The initial value of mA is set to 3.2 mA, the adjustment range is 3.2 mA to
160 mA, and the value is increased by 3.2 mA, 4.0 mA, 5.0 mA, 6.3 mA, 8.0
mA, 10.0 mA, 12.5 mA, 16 mA, 20 mA, 25 mA, 32 mA, 40 mA, 50 mA, 63
mA, 80 mA, 100 mA, 125 mA and 160 mA each time;

 The initial value of filament is set to 1800, and the adjustment range is 1000
to 2600.

6. Operate the exposure hand switch to perform exposure, and observe whether the
TC value reported by Cmd (Command Area) is consistent with the mA value of
Correction Interface (as shown in Figure 8-1-5). If they are inconsistent, adjust
the filament value, perform exposure again and observe the feedback value:

a) When the TC value is smaller than the mA value, the filament value needs to

88/108
VetiX P8Veterinary Digital Radiography System Service Manual

be increased appropriately until the TC value is consistent with the mA value;

b) When the TC value is greater than the mA value, the filament value needs to
be reduced appropriately until the TC value is consistent with the mA value;

7. Repeat the above steps 5 and 6 until all the gears are debugged.

Note:

1. Before delivery, the high voltage generator and X-ray tube have been
calibrated, and normally do not need to be calibrated again in a short time.
If recalibration is needed during use or maintenance, the above methods can
be adopted;

2. The system will produce X-rays during calibration of the X-ray tube, so
protective measures must be taken;

3. When reading the TC value, set the exposure time greater than 32 ms.

8.2 Calibrating the Detector

8.2.1. Calibrating the Offset

1. Clean the collimator window and detector receiving surface, and adjust the

Note:

1. Exposure needs to be performed to produce X-rays during calibration of the

gain, so protective measures must be taken;

2. The collimator requires adjusting the window to the maximum, and there is
no obstacle on the surface of the flat panel.

8.3 Calibrating the Light Field

Light field consistency calibration means ensuring that the X-ray center of the
Veterinary Portable generator is consistent with the center of the flat panel detector. It
aims to make the film taken accurately reflect the diagnostic site required by the
doctor, and reduce unwanted X-ray irradiation for pets.

1. Turn on the positioning light of the collimator (tap the visual field indicator
switch, as shown in Figure 8-3-1), and observe and confirm that the cross
projection is aligned with the detector center;

9.1.3 Exposure Failure

 The hand switch cannot implement exposure

1. The wired hand switch cannot implement exposure, but the wireless remote
control can; confirm whether the hand switch wire is damaged and whether the
connection line in the Veterinary Portable generator gets loose;

2. The wired hand switch can implement exposure, but the wireless remote control
cannot; confirm whether the wireless remote control battery is charged;

3. The wired hand switch can implement exposure, and the wireless remote control
battery is charged but the wireless remote control cannot implement exposure;
confirm whether the internal wireless module connection of the Veterinary
Portable generator gets loose.

 Exposure error

When the Veterinary Portable generator reports a 06, 07, or 08 error, first verify
whether the Veterinary Portable generator reports the error caused by occasional
discharge of the X-ray tube:

1. Turn off the Veterinary Portable generator, and then power it on again to reset the
Veterinary Portable generator;

2. Select low kV dose exposure after startup. If an error is reported, the oil tank or
the main control board fails; if no error is reported, continue to increase the dose
for multiple exposures; if no error is reported in the above two steps, the
Veterinary Portable generator is affected by occasional discharge of the X-ray
tube and can be still used.

9.1.4 Dose Exceptions

 Exposure without kV and TC values

1. Dismantle the front shell, power on to start the Veterinary Portable generator, and
check whether the LED light on the IGBT adapter board is on (as shown in
Figure 9-1-4-1). If the LED light is not turned on, the fuse fails (as shown in
Figure 9-1-4-2), the power board fails, or IGBT fails;

105/108
VetiX P8Veterinary Digital Radiography System Service Manual

Figure 9-1-4-1

Figure 9-1-4-2

2. The oil tank is not in good conditions.

 Exposure with kV value but no TC value

1. Check whether the ms and Fil values are normal (a normal TC value can be
detected only when the value is greater than 32 ms);

2. Check the kV feedback of main control board TP6/TP1/TP7, and read the
feedback waveform through an oscilloscope, with the proportion of 1 V: 40 kV;

3. Check whether the X-ray tube filament brightness is normal.

 Exposure with kV and TC values, and exceptions as well

1. Start the high voltage software, and select the dose 40kV/40mA/40ms exposure
test. If the feedback kV is about 35 kV and the TC value is about 40 mA, it is
normal; if the difference is large, it is abnormal and you can judge that as the oil
tank fails;

106/108
VetiX P8Veterinary Digital Radiography System Service Manual

2. If the kV and TC values are normal, but no image is output, check whether the
sync signal of flat panel detector is normal.
