Interview Experience
Tharun: 6382823161
ROLE: GET Electrical
Salary: 13.6 Lpa [60000 AED]
There were 4 roles Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Production.
For electrical and Mechanical we had 2 rounds of Technical Interview, and the process went
for around 3 days
ROUND 1: Online test -25 Mins
Aptitude (Quants, Verbal, Logical) and Technical (both Electrical and Electronics) which
consist around 30 questions (Each 15) Based on the performance in online test students were
shortlisted for Electrical Role.
Around 30 students were shortlisted for next round.
I was shortlisted for Electrical role.
ROUND 2: Group discussion (Physical mode)
Topic: How Westernization changes the Indian Minds
Preparation time: 1 min
Discussion time: 15 mins
10 students were made to form a batch for group discussion. Only one topic was given and
(Out of 30 students 6 were shortlisted for interview).
Day 2
An assignment sheet was given and had to completed before attending the interview , it
consisted of why do u want to work in UAE , what are your interest , Personal
details ,Personal goals , technical Essay . This also contributes towards the process of
recruitment.
ROUND 3: Technical Interview -I (Physical mode)
Questions were asked from area of interest , projects , intern as mentioned in the resume . My
area of interest was Electrical Machines and Electric Drives and Control so questions were
from it.
Questions were asked from the Essay which I wrote as the assignment.
This Interview went around 25-30 mins.
Explain the different Types of Motor and its application?
What is V/f Control, why do we need vector control?
Why are Single-Phase Induction motors not self-starting?
What is a variable frequency drive and its applications.
How Power comes to your college?
What type of transformer does our college use?
Why do we need Phasor Diagrams?
Explain about Electrical House wiring diagram?
Why did you choose Constructions as your carrer?
What is Power Factor, and what its significance?
Who had attended the Technical Interview, had been selected to attend the vice president and
HR round.
Round 4: HR and Vice President Interview
Questions were about your personal Details.
Why did you choose EEE @ PSG college of Technology?
Why didn’t you opt for Higher Studies?
Why do you want to work in Dubai?
Day 3 :
ROUND 5: Technical Interview -II (Online mode)
An Electrical Engineer from Dubai conducted the final round , This was the final round for
the recruitment process out of 6 students(Electrical) , 3 students were selected and I was
placed in Electrical Role , results were announced around 3-4 days.
The interview went around 30 mins and they were no questions about projects, interns and
area of Interest mentioned in resume
The questions were mainly based on basics of electrical engineering, electric circuits, power
systems
In India what are the voltage levels available?
What are the different types of Transformers , application and ratings?
What are Primary / Secondary Distribution and Generation?
How Transmission Line are classified based on length and Voltage?
Explain Basic House wiring Circuit.
Difference between MCB , MCCB ,RCB its application and its ratings
What is the Use of Lightning Protection in buildings and in transmission tower and how it is
done?
What are the different types of Earthing , Grounding?
What is Reactive Power , how it is caused , how to reduce reactive power in Power System
Network?
what is Power Factor ?
Take any load eg AC/ Refrigerator calculate the Tariff if its runs for 8hrs and 30 days per
month using the latest Tariff Regulation.
What is Kerala State Electricity board Tariff System?
What is Load Flow Studies and how to do load flow calculations?
How to Control Voltage in Transmission Line, and maintain the voltage regulation?
Difference between balanced and unbalanced Load
Difference between Cable and Wire
How do we get Single phase supply to our house?
How is capacitance created in Long Transmission line?
