We had learned about Descriptive Text last semester. So, I just want to remind
you once more.

Descriptive text is a text that describes a particular object in detail.

Purpose of Descriptive Text


The purpose of descriptive text is to describe an object in detail.
• The objects might include people, animals, things, or places.

• The text contains a variety of information about physical descriptions, food,


habitat, origin, reproduction, to unique facts related.
• Descriptive text is written in straightforward and short language, so that the
content of the text is easy to understand.
Structure of Descriptive Text
The descriptive text structure consists of two parts:
1. Identification
contains the identification of the object to be described.
Ex: What's the object?
Where does the object come from?

2. Description
contains a more specific explanation of the object being described.
In this part, you can explain the appearance and personality of the
object.

How to make a Descriptive Text


1. Specify the topic or theme to be discussed.
2. Determines the purpose of describing the object.
3. Observing in person.
4. Gather data and information.
5. Create a framework of the data that has been collected.
6. Expand frame into a description text

Example:
Fun Fact about Einstein
1. Einstein was a hard-headed child.
2. Young Einstein had a hard time speaking.
3. A compass sparked his interest in science.
4. Einstein did not pass his college entrance exam.
5. He urged the US to build an atomic bomb.
6. Einstein’s brain is conserved and has been and is the object of multiple
studies.
7. He was a talented violinist.
8. Einstein had three nationalities.
9. He loathed science fiction.
10. He could have been any kind of country’s president.
