2p fa INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR CENTRIFUGAL PUMP (HJ) This instruction manual describes construction, standard clearance and Limit of use, disassembling and assembling of model HJ pump. As for installation, operation and maintenance, etc., kindly refer to the instruction manual for centrifugal pump (common) attached hereafter. CONTENTS CHAPTER 1 CONSTRUCTION .. 1, General . 2. The pumps rotating element is connected to the motor shaft through a rigid coupling and no bearing is provided in the pump. The pump is so constructed as to make it light in weight and simple in handling and maintenance. 2. PUMP CASING ‘The suction inlet is provided in the volute cover and the discharge outlet in the volute casing in such a way as to form axial suction and top discharge. ‘The volute casing is fixed to the motor bed so as to be for an overhang arrangenent. For inspecting the interior of the pump a short piece is required at the suction side. 3. IMPELLER ‘The impeller is of the single-suction type and the balance holes provided near the center of the back shroud | serve to cancel the axial thrust due to the pressure water on the back of Ge PART wasue oF want] wot] A |uame oF ant 1 [voure Gxsna | 1 | ai | paca 1. 2 [wouire coven [a | se] womens | 2 3 [worn eco |? | M| seen | 1 1 [recut T [| stains ane? 1 [weir oa] 1 | | owe i ie [reuse xr | 1 | wo | courcn a a | seve 1 | & | eum racers [ser a [owrewen wot | 1 | sta] ROPE NESSES | ase7 2 | wash A aon | wasn i RASS ¢ | SHINKOIND.LTD, SEES ee 2) 238 4, STUFFING BOX SEAL. This pump can be provided with either mechanical seal or gland packing for stuffing box sealing which is its most important part. (1) Gland packing @) Gland packing of carbon fiber is provid- ed and sealed by pressure water fron discharge side. DISASSEMBLING In order to replace impeller, sleeve, etc., disassembling of pump is carried out as follows. ASSEMBLING Assembling can be carried out by reversing order of disassembling and attention must be paid to the following: (2) Cleanse each part thoroughly to remove rust and scale, and be sure there are no injury and burr in fitting parts. (2) Assemble £itting parts according to match marks if any. (3) Turn nuts for rotating parts securely and fix anti-rotation device without fail 2.1 Assembly of mechanical seal (1) Sliding face, "0" ring and "0" ring groove must be cleansed with leadless gasoline and wiped with soft cloth taking care to keep off Gust and other foreign matter. (2) Take care not to injure sliding face and "0" ring by hitting or scoring. (3) When £itting be sure to apply lubricating oil to "0" ring. (4) Referring to Fig. 3.3 floating seat (54-1) (carbon) must be inserted by hand until it touches bottom firmly taking care not to injure sliding face. (5) Reverring to Fig. 3,3 fit rotating elements to sleeve (22A) before fixing it to shaft. Rotating elements must be in correct assembly when fitted to sleeve. Place stopper ring (54-7) on the fitting base line and tighten it by setscrew, Burr at sleeve end must be removed beforehand. (6) After fitting rotating elements, push seal ring (54-4) by hand and confirm if they can move freely on sleeve by spring load. If this action is bad, seal will be imperfect and leakage will result.
