One of the world’s largest offshore wind farms had very challenging connectivity needs.
The customer required screened separable connectors to fit in unique, compact switchgears.
The connectors needed to provide high performance and withstand broad temperature
changes, high humidity and salinity. TE´s customized products, along with TE’s high-level
technical support and training, were the ideal solution to meet customer´s requirements and
keep the project on schedule.

SMART NETWORKS
TE helps customers overcome technical challenges by providing a complete portfolio of screened separable
connectors that is easily adaptable according to the cable type and size. In addition, the RSTI connector´s
compact design is among the smallest available to fit into the tightest spaces and enables the onsite testing
of the cable without disconnecting the connectors.

Advanced sensor technology is also available for intelligent grid applications, allowing online monitoring
to prevent failures. The unique design of RSTI products makes it possible to combine them with different
sensor types for smart applications.

629.1 S2 requirements, which includes BS, VDE and other international specifications.

• Allow the reliable connection of cables even in tight spaces
• Design fits 630A (C1) and 1250A (C2) bushings (EN 50181)
• Cover cable cross sections from 25 to 1000 mm² up to 42 kV

• Oversheath testing without disconnection of the connector body

RSTI-CC screened coupling connectors up to 42 kV

• Allow multiple cable connections with one bushing
• Flexibility to combine different cross sections on the same equipment
• Cover cable cross sections from 25 to 1000 mm² up to 42 kV
• Available with mechanical and compression lugs
• Rated current of coupling bolt 1250A

RSTI-SA screened separable connectors with surge arrestors

• Protect electrical equipment from costly outages caused by overvoltage
• Excellent short circuit performance and margins protection
• Nominal current values are 5 kA and 10 kA up to 41 kV Uc
• Compliant with IEC 60099-4
