Chapter-26-Circumference and Area of a Circle

Exercise:26
1. Find the circumference in area of each of the following circles, given:
(i) radius = 14cm

Solutions: Circumference = 2πr = 2 ×( 22

7 )
×14 cm = 88cm

Area = πr² = ( 227 ×14 ×14)cm² = 616cm²

(ii) radius = 4.2cm

Solutions: Circumference = 2πr = 2 ×( 22

7 )

Area = πr² = ( 227 × 4.2× 4.2)cm² = 55.44cm²

(iii) diameter = 56cm
56
Solutions: Diameter = 56cm = Radius = cm = 28cm
2
Circumference = 2πr= 2 ×(22
7 )

Solutions: Diameter = 16.1cm = Radius = cm = 8.05cm
2
Circumference = 2πr= 2 ×( 22
7 )
× 8.05 cm = 50.6cm

Area = πr² = ( 227 × 8.05× 8.05)cm² = 203.665cm²
