Research Methodology

Research Methodology is the part of the research

that tackles how the researchers plan to go about
the conduct of the study
Research Methodology

In the research format for senior high school, the

parts of the methodology should not be separated
into sections. Instead, the whole methodology section
should contain the following parts in one cohesive
composition. Before proceeding with the main
discussion, an introduction about the contents of the
chapter should be included.
Research Design

Quantitative Method
After the description, begin research design with a
description as to what method of study you are going
to conduct.

Afterwards, describe whether your study will fall

under DESCRIPTIVE, CORRELATIONAL OR
COMPARATIVE
Respondents

Locale and Population

• It should describe the population of the study.

• It should also explain why the
respondents/participants of the study are selected.
Sampling Technique

Sample Size and Selection

• It should specify the sample size and how the

sample was selected for the study.
• Sampling technique may be random like simple
random, systematic random, stratified, or cluster
sampling, or non-random like convenience, quota,
purposive or snowball sampling.
Sampling Technique

Sample Size and Selection

• It should also indicate why the sampling technique

used was chosen for the present study.
• For quantitative research, it is best to use random
sampling to remove bias.
Data Collection Procedure

Graphical Representation
• It should list the necessary steps to collect data.
• It should start with the how the researcher reached,
acquired permission, and invited the
respondents/participants of the study and the ethical
considerations that were made like informed
consent, voluntary participation, and anonymity or
confidentiality.
Data Collection Procedure

Graphical Representation

• It should then proceed to the development of the

research instrument and how it was tested and
validated.
• Next, it should include how the data was collected,
may it be through surveys, interviews, and focus
group discussions. It should also specify the mode of
data collection, may it be in-person or online and
who conducted or facilitated the data collection.
• Finally, it should explain how the data collected will
be organized for analysis.
Data Analysis

Statistical Treatment
• It should indicate how the researcher will make
sense of the data.
• For quantitative research, the researcher may
employ descriptive like the use of mean, standard
deviation, and composite mean or inferential
statistics like Pearson-r, t-test, or regression analysis.
