How to setup HPE server from scratch for secure64 x86 cache?
Summary of main points:
Configure iLO so that you can connect to the server console from your laptop
Setup RAID 1 for the SSD
Load machine with default settings
Disable hyper-threading
Change BIOS to legacy BIOS mode
Register iLO so that you can use the remote console and media option
Use remote console and media option to point to iso file on your laptop
Install s64 x86 cache software from iso image located on your laptop
The screenshots attached is trying to show the above mentioned can be done in a step by step
manner.
1) Boot up server with monitor and key board connected
2) Press F9 to setup system utilities
3) Enter System configuration
4) Enter iLO5 configuration utility
5) Network options
6) Disable DHCP and set your desire IP
F10 save and go back to previous menu (Esc) and reboot.
Try to go back to user management menu after boot up.
7) Go to User Management
8) Edit or Remove User
9) Change the iLO login name and password to your desire
Save and exit
10) Set the laptop IP
11) Reboot machine to get new iLO IP
12) When machine is booting, press F9 to setup system utilities
13) System configuration
14) Select RAID config
15) Configure RAID array
16) Create RAID array
17) Select both SSD as RAID members
Proceed to next Form
18) Select RAID 1
19) Change the logical name to your preference and SSD Over Provisioning Optimization to
“Enable”
Submit changes and save
20) Go back to main menu
21) Go to BIOS settings
22) Press F7 to load default settings. Press enter and wait. Machine reboot.
23) When system rebooting, press F9.
Go back to System utilities menu, BIOs and Select processor options
24) Disable hyper-threading
25) Go to boot options
26) Change to Legacy BIOS mode
27) Select ok and reboot
28) Connect your laptop to iLO port and use browser to go to iLO ip.
Login
e.g. http://192.168.0.1
29) Go to administration
30) Go to licensing
31) Enter your license key and activate it
32) Go to remote console and media option. Click on Applet
33) click on Web start and keep file
34) Open file with java web start launcher
35) Allow the web app to launch
Continue
36) Choose virtual drives -> Image file CD/DVD-ROM
37) Select your iso file
Press open
38) Power down machine
(Purpose is to boot the machine from “CD-ROM”)
39) Power on machine again.
When machine restart, it will boot from CD-ROM option first.
You will see the screen below.
Choose Cache 3.0.1 and just press enter.
Installing…….
40) Done
You will be able to see the login prompt.
