Role Specification - Technical Team Lead

The Opportunity

Our team of software engineers are critical to some of the world's major capital market institutions.
Building and supporting a range of software solutions that underpins their processes.

We are currently seeking an experienced Technical Team Lead to join our software development
team, leading on and delivering and maintaining our enterprise solutions to our financial services
clients, which include a mix of bespoke financial market infrastructure solutions and our software
products.

Success in this role will be dependent on your ability to solve complex problems based on
understanding the issues within the domain and applying modern solutions to deliver secure, robust

Responsibilities
• Leading and managing our team of software engineers; directing tasks, holding regular 1:1
meetings and semi-annual performance conversations, overseeing progress towards
company, team and personal targets. Providing mentoring and technical coaching to less
experienced team members
• Hands-on coding as an integral part of our agile team, focusing on .NET, cloud technologies,
and React.js
• Ensuring our coding and UX standards and guidelines are followed and reflective of modern
standards
• Contributing to architectural design and product feature development
• Some 3rd Line technical support including some on-call out of hours cover for our
customers’ critical market infrastructure solutions
• Adherence to our company standards, processes and methods including creating technical
documentation
• Helping to meet our infosec, performance, code quality and UX needs.
• Support for Business Development as required (e.g. providing estimates as appropriate)
• Ensuring continued technical excellence

Skills and experience

• 10 years plus experience in full stack development ideally with .NET, .NET Framework, C#,
JavaScript, React, SQL Server, Cloud Services (preferably Azure) & microservices (preferably
Docker and/or Kubernetes)
• A good understanding of CI/CD – Azure DevOps would be a big plus
• Top-notch communication and interpersonal skills, including very good written and spoken
English
• Experience managing software developers and leading on projects
• Strong current technical knowledge evidenced by technical certifications or participation in
open-source projects (aligned to the technologies we use).
• Proven teamwork and collaboration skills, delivering to tight timescales with the agreed level
of function and quality
• Excellent problem-solving skills and debugging ability
• Pragmatism around solutions, demonstrating a reasoned approach
• Thorough understanding of topics like branching strategy, CI/CD and release cycles, Git,
DevOps, etc
• A proven track record of taking ownership of projects and new challenges
