Warm Greetings,
First and foremost, we wish to express our gratitude for your ongoing support. Our students
really worked hard throughout the last session and they are looking forward to the pleasures
that summer break brings.
Outdoor Activities:-
Please take them to Kissan Mandi or Green
vendors for purchase of vegetables and fruits
and explain to them how to look for fresh
and ripe products.
Try going out for a walk at least 2-3 times a
week.
Hiking, biking, swimming or even gardening
will be useful for them to connect with nature.
Family Time:-
Please spend some time looking at old photographs/videos and enjoy the nostalgic trip
down memory lane. Such activities help in bonding the family together.
A short w
school, your family trips, your first jobs, etc. over a
picnic in the city park, balcony or terrace would be a great way to connect with your
child.
Cherish these moments of togetherness.
Reading:-
Encourage them to read newspaper/books.
If possible get membership of the local library.
It helps to improve their reading competency
and boost their creative writing and thinking
skills.
Let us nurture them with real knowledge which demands our time and love. We look
forward to welcoming everyone back in the month of July ,rested, rejuvenated, and ready
for another year of learning and growth.
Warm regards

iv)Placing an order
What writers struggle to express through numerous newspaper columns, the cartoon
manages in a pointed one-liner. Little wonder then, that the first thing most of us like to
see when we pickup a newspaper is the cartoon. Simple though it may seem, making a
cartoon is an art that requires a combination of hard work, training and a good sense of
humour. Cartoonists say that the cartoons that make us laugh the most are in fact the
cartoons that are hardest to make. Even celebrated cartoonists like R.K.Laxman admit
that making a cartoon is not a piece of cake. Laxman says he has to wait for over six
hours, which includes spending a lot of time scanning newspapers and television
channels before any idea strikes him.
So how does one become a cartoonist? Which of us has the talent to make it? How can
we master the rib-tickling strokes and the witty one-liners? How can we make people
smile or laugh? There are few colleges or schools for cartoonists. Most cartoonists come
from art colleges, while some learn the craft on their own. Most established cartoonists
are of the view that no institute can teach you to make a cartoon. “You can pick up the
craft, you may learn to sketch and draw in institutes, but no one can teach anyone how
to make a good cartoon,” says Uday Shanker, a cartoonist with Navbharat Times. While
basics, like drawing and sketching can be learnt in an art college, and are important
skills, these alone, do not make a good cartoonist. Because it’s a question of one’s
creativity and sense of humour; two qualities one simply may not have. The advice
established cartoonists give is that just because you can sketch, don’t take it for granted
that you will become a cartoonist.
Read the questions given below and write the option you consider the most appropriate
in your answer sheet.
(iii) getting the right kind of (iv) good drawing and sketching training. skills.
Q3: Of the many qualities that cartoonists should have, which of the following is not
referred to directly but can be inferred from the passage?
Q4: According to the passage, which group of people is of the opinion that one cannot
learn to make a cartoon in institutions?

Q.1. Assertion (A) : Decomposition of vegetable matter into compost is an example of
exothermic reactions.
Reason (R) : Exothermic reaction are those reactions in which heat is evolved.
Answer
Q.2. Assertion (A) : When HCl is added to zinc granules, a chemical reaction occurs.
Reason (R) : Evolution of a gas and change in colour indicate that the chemical reaction is
taking place.
Answer
Q.3. Assertion (A) : Calcium carbonate when heated gives calcium oxide and water.
Reason (R) : On heating calcium carbonate, decomposition reaction takes place.

Reason (R) : Nitrogen dioxide gas is produced as a by product due to the decomposition of
lead nitrate.
Answer
Q.5. Assertion (A) : White silver chloride turns grey in sunlight.

volume of oxygen formed.
Reason (R) : Water (H,0) has hydrogen and oxygen in the ratio of 1:2 by volume.
Answer
Q.9. Assertion (A): Corrosion of iron is commonly known as rusting.
Reason (R) : Corrosion of iron occurs in presence of water and air.

mass.
Reason (R) : Total mass of reactants is equal to total mass of products.
Answer
Q.11. Assertion (A): In a balanced chemical equation, total mass of the reactants is equal to
the total mass of the products.
Reason (R): Mass can neither be created nor destroyed during a chemical change.
Answer
Q.12. Assertion (A): Iron articles are painted so as to prevent them from rusting.
Reason (R): When the surface of iron is coated with paint, its surface does not come in
contact with oxygen and moisture therefore rusting does not take place.
Q.13. Assertion (A) : Chemical reaction changes the physical and chemical state of a
substance.
Reason (R) : When electric current is passed through water (liquid), it decomposes to
produce hydrogen and
oxygen gases.
Answer

Web server is a special computer system running on HTTP through web pages. The web
page is a medium to carry data from one computer system to another. The working of the
webserver starts from the client or user. The client sends their request through the web
browser to the webserver. Web server takes this request, processes it and then sends back
processed data to the client. The server gathers all of our web page information and sends
it to the user, which we see on our computer system in the form of a web page. When the
client sends a request for processing to the web server, a domain name and IP address are
important to the webserver. The domain name and IP address are used to identify the user
on a large network.
