In this assignment, you are required to:

• Provide a detail analysis solution for Hotel Chain A to understand the possibility
of a given booking reservation get cancelled.

• You are required to provide a summary report from past historical data
regarding booking reservation get cancelled, be a no show or a check-In.

• Provide all the necessary graphs, statistical summary, explorative data analysis
and insights you generated from the past 15 months data .

• You also required to answer the following questions as well

a. What is the revenue loss due to booking cancellations?


b. What is the revenue loss in terms of different breakdowns such as Age,
Country region etc. ... (Provide at least 3 breakdowns)
c. Discuss any additional attributes that hotel management should collect.
d. List down several interventions that the management team can take to
reduce the revenue loss.

Learning Outcome is:

To understand a historical dataset and conduct a detail data analysis and provide
a report.

Assessment Criteria:

The following guidelines indicate the standard that will be expected for each grade.

Grade A (70% and above)


A quality piece of work which demonstrates excellent understanding. The key and
fundamental issues will be explored in detail, including aspects of concept and
practice. The report should be clear and concise with a high standard of intellectual
discussion. The student is to be able to discuss several key findings through data and
able to provide recommendations to the top management team at Hotel Chain A.

Grade B (60 – 69%)


Demonstrates a reasonable understanding of the problem. The report should be
structured, demonstrating clarity of understanding and presentation. The key and
fundamental issues will be explored in some detail, including aspects of concept and
practice. The student is to be able to discuss the key findings through data and able to
provide recommendations to the top management team at Hotel Chain A.

Grade C (50 – 59%)


Demonstrates an adequate understanding of the problem. The report should be
structured in an acceptable manner with minor issues, demonstrating clarity of
understanding and presentation. The key and fundamental issues will be explored in
some detail, including aspects-of concept and practice. The student is be able to
provide average level discussion.

Grade D (40 – 49%)


Demonstrates a basic understanding of the problem, outlining the fundamental and
key issues of the topic area. Documentation will be adequate, but explanations may
be limited. A bare minimum report is provided.

Grade E (fail) (40 – 0%)


Demonstrates poor understanding of the problem or no attempt at all. The analysis
may have limited functionality and major errors and/or omissions are likely.
Documentation is very limited or not to an acceptable standard. Explanations will be
limited.

Zero marks will be awarded for non-submission.
