c. sound out phonemes /s/, /æ/, /t/, /p/ correctly.
d. blend phonemes to form at least 5 words.
LEARNING OUTLINE
PRE LESSON
1. Guide the pupils to sing the phonics song.
LESSON DEVELOPMENT
2. Activity 1:
a. Introduce the letters and theirs sounds to the pupils.
b. Show the letter flash cards to the pupils.
c. Articulate the sounds and do the actions.
d. Have pupils listen and follow.
3. Activity 2:
a. Introduce words with the focus sounds by showing flash cards.
b. Say the words and have pupils listen and follow.
c. Guide pupils to blend the phonemes to form words.
d. Organise pupils into groups.
e. Distribute a set of blending cards to each group.
f. In groups, pupils blend the phonemes to form words. (Assessment)
g. Help and assist pupils as and when necessary.
4. Activity 3:
a. Distribute worksheet.
b. Task 1: Pupils say the name of each picture and colour the initial sound. (Assessment)
c. Task 2: Say the words. Pupils listen and circle the corresponding pictures. (Assessment)
d. Discuss the answers with pupils.
POST - LESSON
5. Distribute worksheet to pupils.
6. Pupils name the pictures and find the words in the word search.
